Congrats to those promoted, hope you do well now that you're in your new positions. Don't take the hate to heart since it's not really about you as individuals.

And yet you've forgotten that it's less than 3 months since the time most people would have applied therefore a lot a strong candidates probably aren't able to apply.

I'm interested to hear how these people fit all the criteria to become staff. I would give the benefit of the doubt to the first two since they have a lot of positives but the others are nowhere near meeting the standards that other people were tested by. They have very niche, often low quality activity and little to no engagement in meaningful discussion. Arcane has literally zero integration with the vast majority of the community yet that's a requirement for the position... ???????????????

I'm not saying they aren't good choices, just there's clearly a lot of missing transparency.

I know some of you guys are joking around, but some of you guys I don't know personally I can only assume are being somewhat serious.

That said, are they exclusively only promoting people via applications these days?

 

That's what it appears to be. Im sure if they are looking for people and nobody submits an application theyll post it.

 

Yea we're sticking to the system as long as it's working and we're getting applications in. That being said, whenever we're in need of some new sectionals we go through the applications and process them. We don't handle them 24/7.

 

Every time I take a study break, I just come and read this thread. It makes me realize why I study so hard in the first place. Just accept the promotions. If they fuck up, then they'll get demoted. Simple. I think a majority of people just upset because they weren't chosen bruh.

 

Just gonna refer my post here from the other thread:

Am I the only one who miss the old days back in O '09 - mid 2011, where the was actually no hate at the promotions and everyone was happy on the new Moderators behalf. The days when we didn't get 50 threads about a Moderators action or a high percentage of the members trolling the Staff and the new features + changes the Community gets.

Now at every promotion in 2016, the thread get's spammed with mad hate, and people post a tons thread with their hetz, because they don't agree with the promotion(s) and that their favorite person or good buddy didn't make Moderator.

The good thing is, we are characterized by democracy. No one is forcing you to stay or like what's being done, you are free to leave, no one is gonna stop you.

TL;DR

Stop bitching, give the whole Staff Team a breath and the new faces in the Team. They deserve the benefit of the doubt. A good example on this is @FireZ Him and I, aren't the best friends in this Community, but I'm openly admitting that there was this hate and questioning back in 2011 when he got promoted to Off Topic Moderator, since he wasn't one of the "famous" ones or the popular amongst the members, no one barely knew him. He went on to prove everyone wrong, climbing the ladder and went on to be one of the greatest assets aswell as Sectional & Global Moderators this forum has ever seen.

This is just my 2 cents about this whole deal.
