Official MMs, are they coming back anytime soon?

how do you know he hasnt scammed anything? he has been banned for being accused of scamming with good proof however proofs werent good enough which is why he has twc now.

tha kid was just a trusted "mm" he did do like 2 mm trades and s3xpert was almost an official(completed app)

lol i was the first person to report s3xpert with proofs and sin666 later banned him.

also your right about tha kid, he did only do like 1 mm.

and as for conman...... i asked sin666 about him and sin666 told me that he apparently scammed 2 phats which was why he was banned(now twc).

so i think i know what happened considering sin told me what happened........

 

yeah, it's probably best to bring back previous official middlemen, and perhaps also to look at new applications brought from other members. The WoW market is starting up, and probably in some time it'll become larger and larger.

 

Tilt and Ryan seem to be out of it. Viet hasn't posted since december. I'm not up for another run yet. Josh got the boot. Con won't be re-instated until he ditches the letter on his chest.

So that leaves Pen, Finn, Fois, Phil, Dorito, and - who else?

 

The officials should be brought back, but they should have to undergo some sort of test. Just to make sure that they are up for the job.
As the market section of Sythe becomes more and more active then the amount of scams will also increase. To eliminate the problem, bring back the officials.

Agreed. About a year ago when I used to MM I had, I think, 23/25 proofs and through the entire process I made a total of 50k, from a tip. It's just mainly a community service act, to try and keep the community safe. Once you get official you can charge a few of something along the lines of 5-10% which is only about 50k on a 1m trade.
I agree that you shouldn't have to re-prove yourself. Possibly just complete a small number of trades, such as 5. Then once your five trades are completed you can have your official MM rank reinstated. But lets not jump to conclusions, the rank hasn't even been returned yet.

I would have to go back and find all my proofs, I think I was just about there, but of course I would have to accepted. But there won't be that many MM's also Yakov posts every 3 months, or checks in time and time again.

 

You forgot me, but I'm not interested anyway. It was my idea to do away with them in the first place.

 

Well, the fact is that they were/would be too trusted among the community. I'm not saying any of them would, but they would handle some pretty BIG trades. And i don't think that every official MM could hold out forever, especially with big trades. So its just that when someone becomes official MM, everyone AUTOMATICALLY trusts them. And i don't think that that would be the safest thing to do.

Level of MM Ranking?

 

Well, Finn, instead of having a rank, have a list. You see, when people know a "trusted" MM, they can believe to trust them. But a rank says that they are ALWAYS trusted and will always be good. But instead, why not just have a list of proven Trusted and Un-Trusted MMs. This list could tell people who has completed a lot of successful trades, so they know who to go to. But this list would not say that you must trust them, as the rank does. The rank, in a basic way, demands trust from the customer. This list would simply say who CAN be trusted to MM a trade, or anything else. This could also be with User Services (firecaping, torsoing, etc.). This will increase the safety of Sythe.org and make it a much safer trading community.

But if we add in Official MMs again, there will be doubts and concerns. The simple act of adding an image to someone makes them immediately trusted. And this would not only prove to be problematic, but a very hard decision to make. Because a scammer could go through the rigorous process of being good, and then become official. But then, when the trade of the century comes along, he strikes. The automatic trust would prove to be a problematic and sad addition.

 

Make all official MM's put in their signature

"I,_______, am an official Middleman. While this means that i am more trusted than other middlemen, it does not mean i am to be trusted completely, so use caution in every trade, even if i am apart of it." or something to that affect

or assign every MM a cap limit, with only people that are already staff highest, then desending by time spent, MM's done, and how trusted they would be if they werent official

 

You really think that will matter? It won't change anything because of the rank. People would ignore this "oath" and just still think of them as trusted. Besides, saying that would take away the point of even adding a rank.

 

Unfortunately, ranks are vital in making it quite clear who is and isn't an official Middleman.

 

I personally think if you bought your post count and ranks you should not be able to apply for being an official MM. Former MM applications should be re-instated as well.

 

Well, applications need to be re-done because there are new methods of trading now. You need to have NEW practice with these new trading methods etc. So, with new applications you'll be able to see who can really do a good trade NOW.

 

Twice as much labor than anyone else? Why should we have to do more? We've completed one, and if we have to complete another, we'll have done significantly more than you.

 

No, its the fact that back when you were official, trading wasn't so hard. Now, you have to BH items and use other methods. We dont know if your good at the new methods. Its like medicine, you have to keep updated or you wont know what your doing. Maybe not a full application, but something to prove that you can use current methods.

Ive never tried to become an official mm but i know because some people i know have tried, because i wouldn't come close, for example: Hiro my friend irl had like a bunch of mm's done and made alot of money and his app was denied, not saying it should of been accepted, but if people try that hard and it takes alot of time to do that, the ex-officials deserve to come back as officials if sythe agree with bring official mms back.
