Full Control of Your Body

I was wondering earlier if we as a human race can advance so much that we will we be able to control every detail of our body. Such as the ability to grow nails or hair at will. Or control organs individually. ive heard of people being able to slow down their heart pace so that they seem dead. or able to disable nerves in different parts of their body.

Do you think we will ever be able to have absolute control over our body and if so how?

Can we control bodily functions down to the smallest organ or have the ability to control your cells?

How will we reach this stage? Meditation? Drugs? Technology?

 

Damn , well I don't really know there is not one way you could probs.

 

It is possible to slow your heart rate down, but not to effectively stop it. Its done through manipulation of muscles and training, not through mental capacity and the ability to control organ function. I don't forsee us being able to control organ or body growth any time soon.

 

I don't see much of a practical purpose for doing this, as being able to control everything down to the last cell would require MASSIVE amounts of effort.

 

Yeah, supposedly Gene Simmons can slow his heart rate.

 

We could do anything we wanted, we'd just need the right technology. Although this would be like turning on 'admin mode' on our bodies.

 

I could see a lot more control of our body if we had a fully functioning brain, but I don't think we could be so in control that we could control cells.

 

I believe that being "in greater control of your body" is actually possible to certain degrees and would likely be achieved through meditation and spirituality rather than medicine and/or drugs.

If you take examples like the Shaolin monks who train themselves to be able to withstand great pain, and meditate and focus all their energy into certain areas of the body to "harden" and "strengthen" their muscles to avoid blows in combat by swords & spears, it is pretty amazing. Or people who gain so much control over their minds that they are able to astral project, and literally "step out" of their bodies whenever they please to roam and explore the astral plane. There are many things that I think humans are capable of that we perhaps have not discovered yet.

Our minds and bodies just seem to complex and mysterious to be limited by what we know now and what science tells us we can and can not do.

I feel like our brains are learned to subconsciously control certain aspects of our body out of necessity. We'd forget to breathe, make our heart beat, blink, or we'd shut our nerves off as you suggested and end up getting severely hurt.

I think we're fine how we are.

 

I can do it, i know for a fact heart rates can be slowed and manipulated. Snipers use it all the time.

 

Derren Brown did a thing where he stopped the blood flowing to his brain to relive pain or some shit

 

I was watching a show called Super Humans and it talked about this. Here is the video. Pretty crazy.

 

If we ever do, it's due to evolution, and it's something practical, to deal with something, for instance rising waters = We grow taller, or our lung capacity increases to accommodate the increased pollution, who knows.

 

It can actually be done through mental capacity, I have done it with no training whatsoever

 

i don't think it will be possible but, it is interesting, as far as growing our hair/nails when we wanted to, i just don't think theres any nerve connections to our brain to be able to control that.

 

yeah average brain useage is currently 23.4%...
If we had over 50% they're would be ALOT we can do to ourselves...

these guys can meditate so hard, that they can make an ice-cold blanket on their back dry out and even make it steam.
I've seen them do this on top of a snowy mountain in another vid.

 

We do have almost fully functioning brain. the saying that we only use 20% of our brain is a myth. the only parts of the brain that arent in full use are "memory" and someting else i cant remember..
