Guide To Fastest Woodcutting XP Rate (70-80k xp/hr)

I will try to be very brief in this guide as it is my first and I do not want to clutter you guys with too much information. Enjoy. =)

Before you read, here are the recommended requirements
-Complete/Partial Completion of Monkey Madness quest (up to the point where you are able to use a monkey greegree)
-65 Woodcutting or Higher (In order to ensure you are receiving the maximum XP rates, a decent woodcutting level is required but not necessary)
-Dragon Woodcutting Axe(Not necessary, however to ensure that the given XP rates are met a D-WC axe is recommended. It's not too expensive and you can sell it back for a similar price when you reach 99 WC.)
-Being able to Concentrate (If you are lazy or get bored easily stop reading)

Getting straight to the point, cutting teak logs on Ape Atoll is hands down the best experience in the game if done in the correct manner. The major misconception that many people have with Woodcutting is that Willows have a better XP rate/hr over any tree. This can not be farther from the truth. The reason for this misconception is that the majority people do not know of a certain power dropping method(originally used in mining) that can be applied to Woodcutting. In this guide I will teach you how to power cut Teak trees for great XP. =)

Recommended Inventory
I suggest having no valuables on. Teleportation jewelry may be worn. Your inventory should consist of your monkey greegree of choice (Perferably not the zombie or zorilla ones), and your woodcutting axe of choice. As soon as you reach Ape Atoll have your woodcutting axe at the bottom right corner of your inventory and equip your monkey greegree.

Location
To get there you may use an Ape Atoll Teleport or if you do not have that spell you may take the long way: Grand Tree 2nd Floor>Daero>Waydar>Lumdo>Ape Atoll



The Teak cutting location is in that spot.

Cutting Method
1. Stand in between the two trees closest to each other.
2. Click on any of the two trees in between you to begin cutting. (You will not see a cutting animation because you are in monkey form. Do not worry.)
3. Hover your mouse over your first inventory slot and right click the first log you get. (Top left corner)
4. As soon as the first row of your inventory if full with four logs immediately drop the first log.
5. As soon as you click drop log, quickly click on the same tree that you were chopping.
6. As in steps 3-5 Hover your mouse over the 1st slot, as soon as you see the log right-click and click drop, and quickly click the tree to repeat the process.

To sum things up, you are only dropping one log at a time. The reason why this method is faster is because dropping 1 log a time and clicking the tree again acts as an instantaneous drop since no time will be interrupted woodcutting. If done correctly, you will get the next log in the same amount of time if you would have not dropped the log.

60-75k Dropping Column by Column
80k-90k Using instant drop method (The method described in this guide)

If you can not goto Ape Atoll you may cut Teaks on Karajama. Only problem is there aren't three good positioned trees for power cutting but it is still a good alternative.

 

well, the only thing i dislike about the instant drop method is that you have to pay attention.

I'm going to have to give this guide an 8/10 only because you don't have that you should do monkey madness in there.

lou you might not have to do mm to get there but you do have to atleast start it and as michael is saying you have to atleast do some of mm so you can have the gree gree

 

10/10 guide, had no idea teak was that good of xp, I'd probably make around 70k an hour though, for my lack of attention.

 

Thanks for the comments. =) And trust me, if you pay attention the minimum xp you will gain is 75k/hr. I am not bsing like most people do in there guides. I ensure you these xp rates are accurate. If you wish to test this out woodcut as fast as you can for 6mins and multiply the xp you gain by 10 to find out the maximum xp/hr rate.

Yes, there is a way! I however can not guarantee that it will be faster than willows. Each inventory will bring you roughly 1.5k profit. Go to that village on Karajama (not Shilo the other one with the weird name ending in trio) have your equipment and like 1k trading sticks to start off. Cut the trees in the little enclosement. Ask the guy to parcel your inventory and bank it for a few trading sticks. Repeat. Sorry I can't go to in-depth with this method as I have never really tried it.

 

I rather invite a friend to fm teak lgos for me. Even if he's f2p, I will pay membership for him. Dropping log by log needs to pay attention..which is boring..anyway, your guide is well-explained.

 

For some of the hardcore players, power cutting teaks for 8-10 hours straight is no problem. =) If you can't do this do willows instead. =p
