    Fire Cape Guide

    Hey Guys
I'm back with a fire cape guide. This guide will detail how to get your own fire cape without using guthans. Lets get started!

    Requirements
Not "required" but greatly improved chances of success.

80+ Range (If you have lower and want a cape, check out http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=488043 we'll have you 80 in no time ;)
    75+ Defense
60 prayer (You can do it with only 43 prayer though! 60 will give you a MUCH better chance of success)
    80+ hp

The most important part to the fight caves is to have a level head all the time.
If you panic you will most certainly die.

    The Waves!
Some people might see a pattern...

    Gear!!

    [IMG][IMG]

    From Best>Worst

Veracs Helm > Proselyte Helm >Initiate Helm > Archer Helm > Robin Hood Hat
Trimmed 99 Cape > Obsidian Cape > Legends Cape > God Cape > Regular Cape
Fury > Unholy Symbol > Glory
Crystal Bows > Karils Crossbow (5k bolt racks) or Rune C'bow 2k mithril picking up and 500 diamond(e) for Jad picking up
Karils Leathertop > Black Dragonhide Body > Monk Robe Top
Veracs Plateskirt > Proselyte Platelegs/Skirt > Initiate Platelegs > Monk Robe Bottom
    Barrows Gloves > Black Vambraces
Ranger Boots > Snakeskin Boots > White Boots
Archers Ring > Ring of Recoil
    Unholy Book>Granite Shield*

*If you are using a rune c'bow this is the shield slot.

Note: You can only do the fight caves with the gear on the chart above that is labeled "worst" if your levels are significantly higher than the minimum. The "best" gear above is actual the standard gear.

    What am I killing?

Now that you have your gear you have to know what your up against and how to get there. I hope you all know how to get there if your getting the cape, but if not, teleport to ardougne and take the boat to karamja. Walk east of brimhaven, through the gate, and enter the ! sign at the top of the volcano. The fight caves are in this tzhaar city.
Your going to be up against wave after wave after wave of powerful monsters. Unless you have mostly 99 combat stats, I would not recommend trying to melee. The most important part of the fight caves is survival, not speed, so defense plays a key role. Your ranged level also plays an extremely key role (for the obvious reasons you will be killing the monsters with range), but you will need both stats to have a good chance of survival.

    Inventory

300 Purple Sweets (expensive but worth it)**
*1 Full Crystal Bow (And 1 Full Crystal Bow equipped)
    6 Saradomin Brews
    2 range potions(4)
    18 super restores(4)

*If you are not using a crystal bow, replace the crystal bow slot with the bolts you are using to kill the Jad. I recommend (If using a rune c'bow) to use mithril bolts (2000 if picking up with Accumulator) and 500 diamond bolts(e) for the Jad (Addy bolts can be used as well). Do NOT use ruby(e) the impact to your health might make you have to eat, and distract you from prayer switching. Just don't use ruby(e)!

**Stackable and they heal 1-3 each and restore 10% run. If you can afford it, it is highly recommended you buy 1000 or more (this is really expensive!) but you it almost guarantees surviving until the Jad.

    Slaughtering the Masses!

Now, for the actual killing of the waves. The two best safe spots are shown in the picture below.

    [IMG][IMG]

    Pink= The "Claw" Rock
    Green= The "Italy" Rock
Blue= Stand here after wave 62 (360, 360) (Right before the jad arrives)

During the waves you can use the safe spots to trap the monsters. I recommend just doing the first few waves of the fight caves without armor (you can if you want, the minigame is safe!) just to familiarize yourself with the safe spots.

    What am I killing?

    Tz-Kih: Level 22 Max Hit: 4 Health: 10
Looks like a bat but on fire. Everytime it attacks (including 0's) its will drain your prayer 1 point. If it hits a 4 it will drain 4 prayer. These always die FIRST if they can get to you or you will run out of prayer potions later. They use melee only.

    Tz-Kek: Level 45 Max Hit: 7 Health: 20
Easy to kill and rarely hit, can be trapped using the spots detailed above. When killed it will split into two Tz-Keks which are level 22, which 10 hitpoints and a max hit of 4. This monster has no draining special effects. They use melee only.

    Tok-Xil: Level 90 Max Hit: 13 Health: 40
These are the biggest threat. They cannot be trapped, as they are rangers. Kill these FIRST (Kill the Tz-Kih's first if they can get to you ;) ). The 180's in the later waves can be trapped behind these. They use range only.

    Yt-Meykot: Level 180 Max Hit: 25 Health: 80
These can hit both fast, high, and often. Keep them trapped behind the 90's then use a safespot to kill them. No more dangerous than a pussycat if they can't get to you! They use melee only.

    Ket-Zek: level 360 Max Hit: 49 Health: 160
Keep your distance and protect mage. They won't try to melee you unless you get close enough for them to. Just tank them out, kill them SECOND (after tok-xil). You can trap monsters behind these. They use melee and magic, but if you stand several steps away, they will use magic only.

    Yt-Hurkot: level: 108 Max Hit: 20 Health: ?
Usually called "healers" these appear when the Jad is at half health. If you kill them they will appear again when Jad is at half health again so its better to leave them alive. That is why I put ? for health because they have unlimited respawns.

    TzTok-Jad: Level 702 Max Hit: 97 Health: 250
The big bad jad. You will need to pray at all times, and switch prayers too! The old jad could hit 99 but with recent updates he can now only hit 97. Good luck...

    The Big Bad Jad

Ok you've slaughtered 62 waves of monsters and its taken you 2-4 hours. Your bored, excited, anxious, and probably shivering if its your first time. As soon as the last 360 from wave 62 is dead, RUN to the spot I showed in a picture above (the blue dot). While running, turn protect from range on and drink a dose or two of super restore. Always keep a few spaces between you and Jad or he will melee you. Check out these GIF's for a more detailed explanation of how he uses his attacks. (thanks to pepijdng for GIF's) (Note: Click on the images to see the animations move)

    How to Kill the Jad

Stay several steps away from Jad, I cannot stress this enough. When Jad reaches half health, 4 Healers will appear and begin to heal Jad. Attack them while keeping your eye on what attack Jad is using so you can switch prayer effectively. Once they are attacking you, you half two options. You can let them attack you if you have decent defense, or you can try a risky move. The risky move is running underneath the Jad and hoping he doesn't melee you and (quite possibly) 1 hit you. This will trap the healers behind Jad with their attention focused on you. keep pounding Jad until he's dead and remember too watch your prayer. if you succeed in killing him then you will receive a fire cape, the only animated cape in runescape and possibly the best cape in the game. If you die at Jad you will get about 4000 tokkul and if you kill Jad you will get about 8000 tokkul.

    Good Luck!!!

Hope you enjoyed this guide, if you have any questions/comments/concerns please post and I will reply.

    FAQ's About The Caves:

    Can I do it?

I don't know your stats so I can't be sure. If you have 70+ range, 43+ prayer, and 60+ defense you can do it but you should have the requirements above for a better chance.

How do I learn how to do the Jad?

Read this guide, read other guides, and watch lots of movies about killing the Jad.

    Can you add me?

    No.

Is there other methods of doing the caves?

Yes several but this is the best method (In my opinion) and this method can be done with the lowest levels. Higher levels sometimes like to use guthans, but this is not recommended unless you have very high defense. I have even tried meleeing the Jad and been successful, but this is not only extremely extremely hard and inefficient.

I hope you enjoy this guide!

Well not to generalize runescape but there's only so many ways to do this. SO if this looks sort of familiar its probably because there are other people that can do the fight caves properly that have written guides as well.
