The gloves only have +2 stats compared to barrows gloves. You wouldn't be hitting much more than them. What does this so called glitch do exactly? Just give you the gloves faster?

 

Yes, gives the gloves faster, and the gloves have a special ability whenever you have no weapon equipped it does bonus damage.
