Frost Dragon Summary




Frost dragons lurk in the highest level Resource dungeon available. The dungeon requires level 85 Dungeoneering to access, and inside are a total of 12 dragons to kill. Frost dragons attack with both melee and Magic as well as their dragonfire. Like all dragons, they are weak to stab attacks. Unlike other adult and non-revenant dragons, the frost dragon doesn't drop hides or metal bars as a 100% drop. They are the lowest-level living dragon (Skeletal Wyverns are level 140) to drop draconic visages, although their multiple attack styles makes them more dangerous than most such monsters (Mithril Dragons top the danger list, with all three styles of combat available). In addition, there is a reasonably high Dungeoneering skill requirement to even access these monsters. Using Magic is not recommended as spells will splash very often even if the player has 90+ Magic, 100+ Magic attack bonus and uses magic-boosting prayers. This means the frost dragon bones might not cover the cost of runes if using Fire surge. Using Fire bolt with Chaos gauntlets would be a much more economical (albeit much slower) option.


How To Get There




The Asgarnian Ice Dungeon is a moderately large dungeon in Asgarnia. It is found south of Port Sarim and north of Mudskipper Point (fairy ring AIQ), under a trapdoor. When walking, go to Port Sarim and head south from the Port Sarim Jail, past a grove of willow trees. Go up the small hill and you will arrive at the trapdoor.

In order of fastest to slowest:

• Teleport to House, if the you have a player-owned house located in Rimmington.
• Fairy ring code AIQ, which goes to Mudskipper Point.
• An Explorer's ring, which can teleport to the cabbage field north of Port Sarim.
• An Amulet of glory, which can teleport to Draynor Village, the village east of Port Sarim.

Gear and Inventory




This is the required gear to get 187+ kills per hour. Below is the list of alternatives from highest to lowest.

Headgear: Helm Neitzot / Verac helm
Chest: Proselyte hauberk / Bandos Chestplate / Barrows Plate
Legs: Verac plateskirt / Bandos Tassets
Weapon: Chaotic Rapier /Chaotic longsword
Secondary Weapon: Enhance Excalibur (heals 400) / Sara GodSword
Shield: Drag Def / Dragonfire / Elysian
Cape: Soul wars cape / Ardy cape 3 / Firecape / Skill cape
Amulet: Fury / Strength Amulet
Gloves: Barrows
Boots: Dragon boots
Ring: Berserker Ring(i) / Berserker Ring / Onyx(i)



This is the gear that will get you 187+ kills per hour. It has a high prayer bonus while maintaining good strength and defence bonuses.

Overloads will drain your hitpoints by 500. Do NOT panic while this is happening simply use Enhanced Excalibur special and then soul flick your hitpoints back. To soul flick turn on soul split right before you attack then protect from mage right after. Your going to have to be fast when you are doing this though.

*You fully protect from firebreath drinking this whilst having magic protect, just ignore the "Your potion protects you slightly" message which infact you are protected fully, so it means you don't need super antifires.
**Prayer potions restore 33 instead of 31 per dose


Prayer




This should be on your Quick Prayers. You'll want to keep turmoil on for nearly the whole time unless you are picking up/placing your cannon to preserve prayer. Berserker will allow for your Antifire potion to last longer.


How to Kill Frost Dragons


When you first arrive take a sip of your antifire and turn your prayers on. Go South East, if there is more then 1 person hop, if there's an open spot then head to the wall with the edge sticking out on the east wall. Once there take 3 steps off of it and setup your cannon. Finally when your cannon is up and shooting take a sip of your Overload and use Enhanced Excalibur special to start healing. Now start Soul Flicking on the frost dragons to get to max hitpoints.



Frost Dragons drop many things including the Draconic Visage which is on the Very Rare drop table so Ring of Wealth will not effect it.They also drop Rune Longsword, your main focus is the Frost Dragon Bones.





Some important notices you'll see while you are at Frost Dragons are Overloads have worn off, Antifire is about to run out,Cannon has decayed, Cannon is out of ammo, and Your Special bar is too low to use this scroll.

Overloads: Your overloads last 5 minutes so you can easily tell how long your trip is. 1 sip lowers 500 hitpoints so be ready to heal once you pot up.

Antifire: Each dose of Super Antifire last 6 minutes. If you don't keep this on then you will notice very quickly as they will start hitting 200+ constantly.
Decayed: After approximately 20 minutes your cannon will 'decay' all you have to do is pick it up and place it back down.

Out of Ammo: The cannon holds up to 30 Cannonballs at a time so all you have to do is to click fire to refill it as you run by to the next dragon.

Special Bar: Your Pack Yak has a special bar for sending items to the bank. Drinking a sip of Summoning Potion will restore 25% of the bar.

In this this trip i lasted 2 hours 38mins.

Total in supplies = 2,175,348

Frost Dragon Bones + 5 Rune Longs(19,022) = 8,148,264 + 95,110 = 8,243,374

8,243,374 - 2,175,348 = 6,068,026 / 158 = 38405.227/min

38405.227 x 60 = 2,304,313 GP per hour
