    Why 2007scape will fail.

It won't fail, but will take time for it to be stable as people have to level up mining/smithing for rune weapons and shit.

    Why 2007scape will fail.

I don't think it'll be as "successful" as we'd like, but I do not agree that it will fail. RSC still has a functioning amount of players on it, and staking and such is alive and well. That being said, RSC had a very low amount of players compared too 07 RS.

The biggest flaw with your entire argument is that it's pretense is that everyone who was on Runescape was at a younger age. Just because you were 12 years old in 2007, doesn't mean other members were; there has always been older players in Runescape. Not counting you're completely dumbing down the age group by saying their mental capacity couldn't handle anything more rigorous. Ex: Call of Duty Modern Warfare came out in November of 07. Hell, some of the best people I know at gaming are 12.

Nostalgia plays a big part, but you're comparing apples and oranges. Playing with action figures running completely off imagination is a little bit different then gaming.

This lack of players all started in 07. While I'm not saying people are going to just show up and come back, I'd say it's quite likely more old-school players are going to be on the old-school servers.

Clans will rise, and they will be like they used to be. It isn't hard to get some friends together, that get friends together, that get friends together. Not counting I wouldn't be surprised if clans like FOE get back-together.

Skill aspect isn't that hard to grasp. There are people who will train their stats to max, there are legit players who have gotten nearly 200M exp in every stat and I'm sure they'll go into old-school and continue training. As well, there are also bots and that'll be doing a lot of skilling as well.

Full rune will be decent loot again, hell in the begining it'll be worth quite a bit. I think you're underestimating the fun of the "simple" fighting (which was actually quite challenging.) If it's so boring, why are 07 private servers still thriving?

New players will enter it, maybe not on the same rate as normal RS, but people will try the game out. I don't think they plan on having 100k+ people online on their old-school servers, hell it'll just be a big private-server that's like a tight-knit community. If there were just 5k active 07 players, I'd be happy with that.

Godwars was added on the 28th of August, vengance was already out. The main difference between then and now (as in pre-eoc) is the weapons.

    Why 2007scape will fail.

Age doesn't matter. That's like saying you won't want to watch a film for kids when you're older. Why not. The graphics aren't what people want, it's PKing. It's what people enjoyed. Not everyone wanted the new boss, or the new quest, otherwise they wouldn't hire other people to do it for them. The old weapons will make it more challenging as you can't just use an ability and hit 5k.

Nostalgia can last a lot longer. Pokemon. I've many a time picked up my gameboy and played it for weeks on end, even though i'm not '12' or '8' or whatever age it's based around. You can still have fun with things you enjoyed when you were younger, ask your dad if he still has fun shagging your mum, bet you know the answer to that.

This is nothing like 'prior EOC'. This is before they removed the wild and made a trade limit, when RS was booming. It was at it's best, and that's why they're bringing it back. Some long lost players will come back purely to speak to old friends and try and have some fun. Yes, a lot will have grown out of it, but there's always the ones that won't.

This is utter bullshit. The majority of RS2 clans will just have a 07 clan also, where the members are the same, and on top of that pking clans will be everywhere, especially the old ones making a comeback. There will be a lot of people in clans that have kept touch when rs has left their lives, they will be likely to come back and reform the clans, as more than likely the reason they quit was that pure pking was ruined.

This is what made it hard, and this is what will push people on. I personally enjoy doing things the old ways sometimes, it might not be better xp but it can be a lot slower paced and relaxing. Mining's the only skill that's really going to be a massive pain as instead of doing LRC or LFM, you've got to do iron or coal for hours on end, but I'm sure people will still do it. If they don't want to, there's always EoC RS, which some like me will personally be sticking to.

It'll make it more fun, todays PKing it boring. I'm bored, I've got a full ability bar, why don't I use a powerful one with my 2h and hit 5k for a KO. l0l0ol00lol i just took 90% of your health and killed you gf you little kid umad pahaha i got your bones ummaddddd.
With the old weapons it takes a bit more skill, and it'll be the stories coming back of 'safing', 'pjing' and even the kids that while about being teamed. It'll make it harder for the kids than can't PK, either get used to it for get over it.

There will be new players, who will want to try out the old ways. They'll have heard stories from their brothers etc and they'll join up.

Nobody will get godswords or vengeance, as it's not being asked for. It'll be what everyone wants, dragon scimitars and 2h's with the occasional bit of barrows being worn and used. DHing will still be a huge thing, and it'll bring back memories of when the game used to take skill to beat others, not what you can afford.

It might seem like I'm one of those 07 bashers who is going to no-life it etc, but I don't really have much interest in playing it, probably only going to make a pure and pk every so often.
