Which OSRS bot is the most profitable to code for?

Considering coding a few scripts. Which bot should I develop for? I don't have much interest in botting accounts; I'm mainly looking to sell the script to the public. It'll most likely be something generic but difficult to do well such as a general combat bot or perhaps a questing bot or something.

Regardless, which current bot gives their developers the most money?

Also, any idea which have the easiest API to use? Quickest repository update times?

Any information is greatly appreciated. The two top dogs at the moment are Tribot and OSBot...not sure which to go with.

 

I'd either say a functioning tutorial bot that does accounts in mass quantity, or a bot that handles general skilling: fishing, woodcutting, etc. You'll want to write it for something that can make a lot of profit to bot, and advertise it as such, as that is what will attract many people to buy your bot.

If you want to make a combat bot, something that can get accounts to a common level that people can sell, like a 70/70/70 or a 99 strength account, etc. Maybe NMZ, something like that.

I was actually just reading for OSBot you need to release a free script, wait a month, then take a test to achieve Scripter Rank II (which is required to release premium scripts).

 

Is there anything stopping you from coding for multiple?

 

I'd imagine they'd have different APIs so I couldn't exactly copy and paste my script from client to client. I want to maintain a high level of excellence, including quickly fixing my bot after any patch that breaks it, therefore doing two clients is not ideal.

However, I suppose it is to be considered. Once a script is made maintenance isn't terribly difficult.

 

It's not like making a bot is a several month long draining challenge. Once you make it and it's functioning well, certainly make another haha

While you're on OSBot, check if there is a way to see which scripts have the most downloads or ratings. If certain scripts in certain areas and very popular, it may be worth it to make scripts like that?

 

I believe with some of the bots, you are required to sign a contract and cannot make scripts for other bots.

 

Yeah unless they changed it recently, Tribot will not allow you to hold the Premium Scripter rank if you are developing scripts outside of Tribot. And the only way you can make money off of Tribot scripts is if you hold the Premium Scripter rank. Osbot doesn't really care as far as I know. You don't need a rank to make money on osbot for selling scripts.

 

Usually you can only script for 1 client. If you're after making money off of only scripting OSBot, TRiBot and TopBot will make you the most. They'll probably all make you about the same amount.

OSBot is the easiest one to start making paid scripts for as TRiBot and TopBot will not let just anyone have paid scripts. OSBot allows pretty much anyone to make pretty much anything paid.

All the bots take 30% of each sale and PayPal fees unless it has changed recently.

All the APIs are pretty much the same. TopBot has an instant repository with instant updated. OSBot does submissions manually and they're pretty slow at them. :/ I'm not 100% sure about TRiBot.

The most popular ones are F2P goldfarming ones. After that it's P2P goldfarming ones and then the rest has pretty shitty sales. Almost nobody really bots other than to make money nowadays TBH.

Scripting is a passive income. You won't get rich overnight and there's really no way to make it a full time job now because the number of botters is low and only going down. You have to make a shitload of scripts and then maintain them and money will slowly start stacking up. Maintanance is easy as fuck BTW. Scripts rarely to never break. Some stuff I made last year is still 100% flawless. If you're doing it right they should only be breaking if the game changes or if the client breaks which both almost never happen.

 

What about private scripting. Most standard AIO skill bots are already made on major botting sites

 

It used to be good money but from what I've been told by friends it's just been "Please make me AIO RS for $20.00 and it better have 1 year of bug fixes!!!" lately. :/ This is likely due to bans being sky high and gold being super low priced lately and people not really getting into farming anymore or not wanting to invest as much into it now. If you do get serious buyers it's really good money though. It would be worth opening a shop once you get some experience because good deals do come in.

Also note that private scripts you only get paid once for. Public scripts you will get paid for every time someone buys a copy. Private scripts seem appealing because you get a large figure all at once but making public scripts is probably a better use of time long term.

 

AS said, osbot is probably the easiest to make money for. We also push updates 2 times per 24 hours, and upload new scripts on the weekends. All scripts are updated 2 times per day, no matter who and how many. So I would argue with that about your post vladbots, but you haven't scripted for osbot for some time now, so I don't hold it to you.

I would say OSBot is the best via money making and ease of access. We also have a script dev section that is very active and helpful.

People that want to bot and not pay for anything, but scripts will not go to tribot. People don't want to pay to even use the client that is why topbot/osbot is your best option. In my opinion you should try both. There is no topbot ban, unless they have one on us, you can write for both sites. We only have a problem with dreambot, who has their staff come to our site to advertise via pm/chat box.


1. OSBot/Topbot - Completely free and no limitations big markets

2. Tribot, if you want to sell minimum amount of scripts and make barely any money + have to have users pay to even use the bot for more than 2 hours in 3 days.

3. No others even to be considered.


Another thing to be considered, we have the most active community, not saying biggest amount of users online/registered, but we have the most active community. No one here will argue that.

 

Ahh, alright. When I did script over there it took over a week to get my script up due to some bugs Divinity had that Zach said were non-existant. :/

I know ericthecmh is SDN Manager again so it's not surprising that the process is faster now.

We allow our scripters to script anywhere they please. The only thing not allowed is if you have a paid script at TopBot you can't also have it free/paid offsite.

 

Go with OSBot. if you can focus on just 07 scripts but if you make QUALITY scripts that run for long, good ban deflector or whatever you will make great money. it's all about the quality i remember when rsbots.net was up a lot of their scripts was quality and ran for long and they sold so much

 

Yeah but what I'm saying is on tribot ect, there are already tons of official scripters who have released premium scripts for every skill and are already est.

Could be tough to break into the (already small) market
