Untrimmed 99 slayer cape, worth it?

I've calculated that I can get the untrimmed slayer cape by cannoning every task to 98 ranged; then using a raiper or whip to 98 defence and finally getting 98 attack with slayer. The last few 100k slayer exp will be covered with a poly staff and once I get to ~10k exp away from 99 constitution, I'll use all my effigies on slayer. The last bit of slayer will be done with soul wars. Lamps and penguin points will always be used on slayer. Summoning familiars will be used to minimize constitution exp gain.

Now, I need your opinion. Is this goal worth the time? As in, is a untrimmed slayer cape respected all that much? Is this efficient? Also, if anyone has calculated this in the past, I would like to know the average slayer exp p/h cannoning most of the tasks by Chaeldar and ranging with darts or ccb. How much better is Sumona when compared to Chaeldar?

 

I'd say it would be one of the most respected capes in RS, due to its rarity, regardless of your combat level.

Go for it. Slayer is such a hard skill to get to level 99, it's seen as a great achievement.

 

In my opinion the effort isn't worth it. That's just my opinion.
Yes, it is as respected as people say, perhaps even more.
No, it is not efficient since you are going to cannon and then melee. Try mixing them up for faster experience.
As for the rates, I honestly don't know :S

Is it worth the effort to break my almost fully quested ranged tank for untrim 99 slayer?

PS. I'm gonna mix the training style. I'll stop using canon at about 97 ranged, in case I decide to do a bit of PvM or canon a few tasks in the future.

 

Can I ask why you are stopping at level 98 and 97 and stuff? As for the cape, 99 slayer would be a good achievement because I don't think alot of people would be bothered to do it without botting. Good Luck

 

I want to keep the cape untrimmed. A second 99 will trim the cape.

Trimmed and untrimmed look similar, you might aswell get a few other 99's too. But good luck anyway it's your account not mine

 

Personally only ever seen one untrimmed slayer cape ingame. On the other hand though , it does seem like a really long and tedious achievement, I wish you lcuk

 

If I would be you, I would go for it.

 

If your dedicated enough to get it go for it. You should make a progress thread, just to get support to help drive you to your goal.

 

If you can do it. By all means go for it. I think that is one of the best capes in the game to get, plus untrimmed is just the icing on the cake.

 

If you have the motivation do it. Untrimmed slayer would have to be the rarest cape in the game. The only problem is you need to think about what your going to do with the account after you get it. Showing off your
untrimmed slayer would get boring after a while and you might want to start getting other 99s. Unless you got all stats 98. That'd be cool .

 

Slayer is pritty boring at some times. but it has advantages such as whips ect. even though they're only 500k now ..<.< best of luck <3

 

You'll need a lot of motivation and time to get it but if you do it will be worth it.

Well, I'll start working on slayer in about a month. Got my finals from 25th Feb so I would've probably started by mid March. I'll probably stop at 95 ranged as I will be doing a LOT of Armadyl solo's.
