    The Ultimate Guide To Barrows!

This guide is going to cover everything for all you barrow noobies, so listen up.

    Equipment:
    Melee:
Veracs works best as it ignores the defence of the barrows brother, this is my personal method when doing barrows as it is done quick. The Fury can be replaced with Glory of course, and the Beserker ring can be replaced with ring of life if you aren't confident at first.

    Inventory:
The whip is for Karils, and the Karils armour and x-bow is for Ahrim. the tunnels underneath barrows. Ill explain into detail of those later. The runes are for house teleport, I usually teleport to my house after opening the chest, recharge prayer, then enter my kharll Teleport back to the Canafis bar.

    Mage:
Once again Rings and Amulets can be replaced, runes are for home, and guthans spear is for when you need health, you would use the full sets effect when you are in the tunnel, against the creatures.

    Inventory:
Now most people when maging use mage dart because it has a special ability of ignoring the mage attack bonus. This way you can efficiently mage while wearing your Guthans armour. Your runes will almost always get replenished when you open the chest.

(I would appreciate if someone could get inventory screenies of when you want to do multiple trips without banking, I can explain it to them when I obtain the screenies.)

    Getting There:
These are the path ways you can take when getting to barrows. After you do a quest "In Search Of The Myreque." You can use a trap door behind the Canafis bar. This is a HUGE shortcut when getting there. After you go down you run to the end of the tunnel go through the wooden doors and you end up in the swamp. Run out and across the bridge the the boat. The boat will let you go up river, which is the purple line allowing you very close to barrows.

The yellow line is the only other way you can get there if you have not done the quest, and it is a LONG way.

    The Brothers:
This is the hills they are located on, there tomb can be accessed by digging with a spade on top of them.

    What they look like:

    Dharok:
This son of a ***** can deal out MASSIVE damage. The lower the hitpoints he has, the higher his hits are. I have seen him hit 60+. Unless you are 99 Defence and very confident in your ability's protect from melee is recommended at ALL times. Mage him or Melee him with Verac.

    Verac:
Even with protect from prayer on, he will hit you, not nearly as hard as if you had it off though. With Prayer on he can inflict a maximum of 16. With Prayer off he can hit as high as 24 I believe. Protect from melee is advised. Mage him or Melee him with Verac.

    Karils:
Yeah, he is a ranger. Now you may think he sucks, but you are dead wrong. This guy is scary. He can hit CONSTANT 20's when he gets lucky. His Maximum is 20. Unless you feel confident in your ability's, protect from missiles is recommended. Melee him.

    Ahrims:
This guy isn't as nearly as bad as the rest of his brothers. If you wear dragonhide armour (I suggest Black Hide) or Karils he can't hit that often. His Maximum is 20, he uses all weaken spells and use fire wave. Not that big of a threat. Mage Prayer not needed unless you want too. Range or Melee him.

    Guthans:
Now this guy isn't to bad. If wearing Guthans, Veracs, or even rune he does not hit often. Not really a threat. Use protect melee if you want, but I never do. Mage or Melee him with Veracs.

    Torags:
This guy is by far the easiest of the brothers. He rarely to never hits, prayer not needed. He is simple. Mage or Melee him with Veracs.

    The Labyrinth
You may now notice that in one of the tombs you will find a tunnel, upon entering you will find a giant maze. Looks Incredibly confusing, but it really isn't once you know what your doing. The Chest will be located in the center of this maze, with your prize awaiting.

The thing you must be careful of is whenever you open a door in the maze a random creature will spawn, and it could be the barrow brother you have not killed yet.

    A Map:
Stick to the rooms with the skeletons, blood worms, Giant rats, and Giant spiders. In one of those rooms will be a door with a puzzle locking that. When you click the door you must be quick clicking the solution because a monster will be attacking you most of the time.

    Solutions:

Once solving one of the problems above you will gain access to the chest room, but before opening the chest becarful, because if you have not yet killed the 6th brotherl, he will appear when opening the chest:

There is a way around this however. Through the maze there are safe spots, where you can trap the brothers and mage safely without taking damage. However if its Ahrims are Kharils you are out of luck as they can range and mage back.

    Safe spots look like this:

    Another Barrows Guide:

Now, for this method to work you must have a house with an altar and a kharyll portal (requires 50 construction for portal and 45 for altar)
    Ectopical can be used too.

You also need 55 slayer for slayer dart (recommended)

    55+ prayer highly recommended

AT LEAST 70+ defense, you'll be taking a lot of hits.

    90+ combat also recommended.

Warning:This method WILL NOT work with ancients!!!

Also, you should have a basic knowledge of the barrows, such as tomb locations etc..

Now, your inventory should look something like this:* If you don't have Ahrims wear full rune with rune kite or Veracs works as well.

In addition you should take the following gear (ignore the ROW, I didn't have a ROL when I took this picture, take the life ring instead =p)

Now that we have the technical stuff out of the way, it's time to head over to the barrows.

Alright, we're there. Now, head to Dharok's crypt (usually most people's first stop anyways).

Pop on melee protect and own this nub.

Now, turn of prayer and get out QUICKLY.

This next step might seem kinda weird.

    Head to KARIL'S TOMB.

Yes, you heard me, karil the range brother.

Drop into his tomb while wearing your mage gear (he's vulnerable to magic, thank you Jagex.)

Pop on range protect and obliterate him.

Now, quickly exit the tomb and remove prayer. See that? you SHOULD have a few prayer points left.

Head to guthan's tomb and use your last prayer on him (hopefully will stop him healing, plus I hear verac now hits through prayer).

Edit: Verac CAN hit through prayer, just confirmed this.[IMG]

Next, pop over to Verac and own him (DO NOT PRAY!!! you brought sharks for a reason!!!)

Now go own that nub called Torag.

Lastly destroy Ahrim. (Ranging with black d hide, bow, and rune arrows of course)

Now of course one of these brothers will be in the tunnel (If dharok or karil are in the tunnel, you are SOL. You'll have to drink some p pot when you find them.)

So, once your in the tunnel kill 4 random tomb creatures using the DDS you brought with you. (I usually kill 2 skeletons, a bloodworm, and a small rat..just out of habit).

After this, your kill count should be at 9. Kill NOTHING else before you find the last brother.

If your tunnel brother is karil or dharok, pray IMMEDIATLY upon finding them (drink 2 doses of prayer pot).

Otherwise, just own them as normal. (don't forget to wield slayer staff and auto cast slayer dart for melee brothers and karil, change to d hide and range for ahrim)

Once you have slain your final brother and killed your 4 tomb creatures, you should have a lovely kill count of 10.

I suggest putting dds and black d hide on for defensive purposes and turn auto-retal off to stop you killing anything else. (10 is a magic kill count).

Find the door to the treasure room, open it, and search the chest. Hopefully you'll get a nice shiny weapon or piece of armor (DON'T forget to check under you if your inventory is full, any loot that doesn't fit will be on the ground)

Now, for a very important step...DO NOT CLICK YOUR ECTOPHIAL!!! instead, go to the magic menu and click on HOUSE teleport.

Once your in your humble abode, run to your altar and charge your prayer.

Now, pop on over to your spiffy portal room and enter your shiny, gray, kharyll portal.

This will drop you off right in canifis pub, just a very short jog from the bank, now, your ready to bank your loot, grab more items, and head back to the barrows with your freshly charged prayer. (DON'T forget another house tele set!!!)

As long as you don't get a dharok or karil tunnel, you can barrow with 0 prayer pot doses indefinetly.
