Spicy Stew Boosting?

Hey all. Recently I learned the log-out trick to keeping your raised stats at the boosted level for 60 seconds or so by exiting to the lobby.

When it comes to Herblore, many people get 91 herb and boost with spicy stew up to 96 for ovl's. This is a painful process and I feel like I'm not understanding it right. I've seen videos where the comments say you cant stack but I've found videos where people have stacked...and of course they didnt explain it.

Can somebody clear this up for me and give advice to get the +5 boost that I need? This process sucks as brown spices are rare when collecting spices in Evil Dave's basement.

 

yeah brown spices are rare but that's the only way to do it unless you get 95 or 96. sorry. :/

 

Killing rats is part of the tasks for the varrock diary, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone by doing that.

If you are already 91 herb then making the extremes may bring you closer to 96 herb and allow you more pots per log in.

Also the ancient curse berserk helps stat drain and I suggest removing your bank pin for speed.

Also if you need to get herb up, you can always bot cleaning herbs for fast xp and profit depending on current prices

 

I was asking more like - can my "boosts" from the stews add up and accumulate?

 

Tbh its better to get that 96 herb because making stews takes so much time and it's hard to obtain +5 boost

Yeah, I did read that. It made sense but I watched people do it, hence the thread.

You can't go beyond the 6 boost limit. And getting a boost of 6 is virtually impossible. 5 is much more likely

Can I add multiple stews that will gradually increase my herblore? I read the damn link twice and I dont understand it.

 

What purpose are you trying to achieve? You cannot boost past 6 levels with spicy stews. They DO NOT stack. They replace. The guy went 80-82 with a boost of 2. Then the next stew he drank gave him 80-85 with a boost of 5 that replaced the previous boost.

The guy ate a stew, which put him at 82, then ate another, which boosted 5, so it put him at 85...

 

Get to 96/91 herb. You answered my question. So you can have multiple stews affect your boost? All I'm asking basically. I mentioned nothing about 90 herb.

 

The spicy stew boosts don't stack.

 

I once did this and it didn't take very long. Just use an adult cat because I can remember from the quest that with a kitten it's very frustrating. It takes 3 hours for a kitten to grow to an adult cat, if you don't have one. Just do some skilling or questing for this time and give your kitten food regularly. Then collect as many spices as possible with a cat and use them on stews to get spicy stews. Finally it's all about luck. +6 bonus is very rare but +5 is pretty common. So 91 herb should be enough.

 

It sucks, but the boosts are totally random. I used the +5 boost from 91 to make overloads for awhile so I know first hand. What you have to do is make at least a few stews at once with the brown spices, boost up with it, and then use a super restore potion to restore all your stats to normal levels if it didn't bring you to your desired level. Then you can boost again. The effects do not stack (aka, drink multiple stews until you reach 96 herb).

It is significantly easier to get a +4 boost if you get to 92 herblore I found, but still very achievable from 91. +6 is very rare so it is not recommended to try from level 90.

Also, the trick where you log out before every minute works to keep you at 96. It is a huge pain in the ass if you are making a large amount of overloads, as you can usually only really do the whole process of withdrawing supplies & making the overloads once within the 59 second period before you must log out again. It is much easier to just get 96 herblore and forget about boosting altogether.
