Solomon's first USEFUL thing you can buy.

    Greetings, adventurer!

It is with great pleasure that I present to you the bank booster; the latest item available solely from Solomon’s General Store!

It is in an adventurer’s very nature to hoard the many rewards of their quests. Each and every item tells a story of victory; of courage over adversity; of triumph! But alas, space is at a premium for storing these numerous trinkets and treasures...

At last, there is a solution!

Simply purchase the Bank Booster +50 from my store and, the next time you log in, take a moment to inspect your bank. You’ll observe that an additional 50 spaces have become available to you! This marvellous item works in exactly the same manner for members and non-members. Indeed, up to 5 bank boosters can be purchased from my boutique, totalling 250 fantastic additional bank spaces, available to all!

What’s more, in consideration of our most loyal adventurers, in the coming weeks the bank booster will also be available not only from my boutique, but also from the Loyalty Shop.

If you’ve yet to visit my establishment, why not drop in and receive 200 RuneCoins absolutely free? Remember that if you wish to purchase additional RuneCoins, you can do so here or by clicking ‘Buy RuneCoins’ inside my store. Don’t forget that I offer a 10% discount to all members!

    Until next time.

Seems like they're changing from cosmetic to things that actually come in handy.
Although I hate how RuneScape is rwting, I may just buy this. There's no junk in my bank, but alot of armour sets, potions and other items that I think I should keep.
A total of 250 more bank spaces sounds like a great thing to have for a hoarder like me. :p
Still, Jagex saying Solomons would only be cosmetic, meh.

Meh, this could come in handy...

But then and again it's just a waste of time. I'd rather them update the game and bring out new quests rather than update Soloman's store with extra bank space. Yeah as you said it's the most useful item yet, because it's the only item which is in the store which you can actually use lol...

I think they're scraping the barrel with some of the stuff they're bringing out.
Seriously they're SELLING BANK SPACES? WTF. This should be an update for everyone for FREE. Would should we have to pay IRL money to store extra things in our banks. They should provide us this for free just for signing up and being a member to their game...

I don't mean to rant but c'mon... Selling bank spaces. Some people were right, before you know it they'll be selling RSGP in the store.

They should give you that for free if your a member, I mean you pay membership fees every month, for them to release stuff that you have to pay extra for.

Dirty...bad choice to go in terms of micro-transaction. It doesn't have a strong impact but nevertheless, it's a bad way to go. Too many games have destroyed it's primary fanbase with this route. Let's hope they are smart and avoid any more of this type.

Anyone know how much the bank space upgrades cost?

This may be a stepping stone towards game changing items in the General Store. It will ruin the game if they start offering overpowered weapons/armors for real money or exp for money.

Quit your bitching. if you owned jagex you would want to increase your profits. The cost of running jagex has been on the rise. They have to brainstorm new ways to pay the bills if they didnt do this membership would double in price. Quit acting like little cry babies. You dont like it? Dont buy shit better yet quit the game. ffs

People are entitled to opinions you know. This is a forum you should expect, and respect that...

People understand Jagex is a business, and businesses are created to earn money, and most importantly profit. Just because they're a business doesn't mean we have to agree with their business decisions. Let people express their own thoughts without you flaming them,

    Amen.

I pretty much agree with this. But I'm not completely opposed to these kinds of updates. Stuff like this could become useful.

This is a great thing for Jagex. Free play can buy more spaces so it is a good way to get money from those leechers. More money for things that don't give any advantage is always good.

Like people are saying it could be worse they could put some OP weapon in there but it is bank space instead. More updates like this are needed. The store isn't ever going to go away so the more junk updates they give the better.

Regardless who cares what the updates really are when it comes to the store. I won't buy anything from the store most likely but the teleports are kind of nice. See someone get tele'd out by a helicopter is pretty cool and if it supports a game I play is even better. More money will mean more updates like the EOC. Obviously the spins people were buying from the SoF funded this project. Maybe selling bank space they will finally give me WASD movement ffs.

What some kid does with his mothers credit card doesn't matter to me. I encourage things like this because it is going to better the game. More quests with voices better graphics better servers. Who can complain unless you like old crappy quests with NES graphics.

I bet you already bought bank upgrade... And I agree with other opinions that there's some good new things that Jagex brought to the game and ofcourse everyone would try to increase their profits but the main thing is if they would listen to the players they would not need shit like that... Like Ashaxx said "Amen" to that. lol

I think they are getting closer and closer to selling RSGP/EXP on the whole SGS, and all the update are almost all based on SOF/SGS.

I'm not complaining about it (as long as it stays to cosmetics and bank space)

This was inevitable... it was only a matter of time before Jagex crossed that line between cosmetic item sales & selling things that are actually essential to gameplay or important to have. Up until now, bank space updates have always been free for paying members, and I think it should stay that way considering the amount of items and quest rewards flooding the game.

I was pissed off when I first read the update, until I read that in upcoming weeks you will also be able to purchase additional bank space with Loyalty Points. I never spend mine anyways and so I've got a good 160k or so saved up that I plan on buying the much-needed bank space with.

If any of you think Runescape is selling out, you're clearly new to the gaming world. Major games such as world of Warcraft, Diablo III and league of legends all have in-game items you can buy for real money, runescape is only just starting to implement this.

You clearly are ignorant...You cannot compare DIII, LoL, RS, and WoW since they all are based on different economic game models. All these games you listed are completely different.

DIII is a F2P with an upfront cost to purchase the game. Blizzard is attempting to make money off the game from transaction fees. In no way does the company force you to pay in order to compete. There isn't even a visible high scores available yet.

I have no idea of WoW as I never played it. All I know is they required a costly monthly fee to play. I believe there were some shop items for cosmetic or 'elite' items. That's all I know about WoW so I will not make an ass of myself.

LoL is not selling out as a company. Get your damn facts straight. Riot has always stated that RP does not give a player a game advantage. Rune pages can be purchased with RP and IP. All runes are purchased from IP. RP is mainly used for IP boosts and cosmetic skins. By purchasing RP you are choosing to support the company. Riot has stated LoL will be F2P.

In the case of RS, Jagex clearly stated they would not go towards micro-transaction that gave in-game benefits. They have gone against their word since their majority shareholder became an US company. The introduction of SoF was met with huge critism since it offered XP and monetary benefits. IMO, this was tolerable as they did not directly sell the XP/GP and the trade-off required huge amounts of money in order to compete with non-SOF players. With the Solomon update, purchasing Jagex coins only gave COSMETIC upgrades. However, with the bank slots upgrade it offers an direct in-game benefit. If Jagex are willing to offer bank upgrades through micro-transaction; what's to say they will not soon offer XP bonus or even drop bonus for money.

Fact is RS is getting close to selling out. No they are not the first company to do this. The major problem is that since the introduction of the game, Jagex has stated they will not follow this pathway.

Seeing they started with the SoF, then officially introduced a micro transactions store, I'd say you're right. This doesn't really give an advantage, but for the hardcore players, I can understand why they'd want to pay for these extra spaces, but I can tell it's going to go further.

    Stupid money hungry Jagex :/

It's kind of funny how they introduced the buyable bank spaces, and then in a few weeks are going to make them available for "free" via the Loyalty shop.

I can't help but feel like they are "testing the waters" here, watching how the community reacts to them selling bank spaces and also slowly, gradually easing us into other items that will be sold through Solomon's General Store. They can justify it this time because the bank spaces will be available soon through the Loyalty shop, but after we get used to it they will start selling many other benefits or material items in the exact same way.

    I c what u did thur jamflex...
