Range Tank or Zerker?

Hey guys i'm looking into making a new account but I'm not sure which one I would like more. I've always been a 1 def pure type of guy but I like seeing the versatility of these accounts with better armor and just PvMing in general. I never got into PvM despite years of playing the game! I don't really see a point in having a main, that's just my opinion. But out of these two types, a range tank vs a zerker.. Which seems to be the most fun and versatile? Like would you rather be 99 att/str or 99 range/def? LOL it's hard to decide. Help me out guys!

I've had both. I can tell you from personal experience a zerker was a lot more fun for me. You're going to be limited boss wise on either account, as far as deep wildy pking is concerned a range tank can't kill people very effectively. Let's say you bring barrage and range, your opponent will camp hides and pray range. Bring regular spells with tb/entangle/god spell, and range and half your invent is runes and gear switches. You won't be able to out last most people who fight back. I think a zerker would give you the most enjoyment.

Imo range tanks are great, I've had one in RS3 + OSRS, they're good in deep wild. I'm expecting a range buff any month now aswell

 

Zerker, higher hp, lower risk more fun.

Range tank for multi pking, I like to relax and pk

 

Let's say you're in deep wild as a maxed tank vs a max 70 def brid. They put on hides/karils and pray range. Do you camp bolts vs pray or barrage vs hide? I just don't think they're practical at all unless you're clanning/with a team.

 

I'd say range tank since you wanna PVM. Personally I hate zerkers because they are just so boring after some time.

 

Yeah bro, you're right. It's definitely very limited. But the defense is over whelming for any fight as well. It'll be hard to get 1v1 fights. But both accounts maxed are around 106-108 cb who wins? How are zerkers in deep wildy anyways? I think in F2p they would be do just fine 1v1 and with a team though. Am I right or wrong here?

 

How did you find them boring? A lot of people would say the say about a range tank too though right? :/

 

Deep wildy a maxed zerker would win easily imo assuming the zerker would be tribriding as the tank is limited to range/mage. Defense isn't helpful if you're caught in robes with a maxed zerker agsing you, or d bolting you.

 

Yeah you're right man. Hows PvM as a Zerker though? Are you limited?

- Deep wildy pking - Tank, Defence doesn't matter
- Bossing - Tank, Defence doesn't matter
- Slayer - Looks better on Zerker, just as easy on both
- Questing - Tank is much easier to quest than a Zerk

 

It honestly depends on your PK style, on my zerker I can kill a range tank but with a lot more effort than the range tank puts in.

 

Between the two, I'd say zerker. Zerkers are more fun pking IMO, but range tanks are better at PvM.

Now my honest opinion, reading that you've always been a 1 def guy, you might just want to stay 1 def. I've always been a 1 def guy too, and I've tried making zerks, and I always get bored of them and ALWAYS crawl back to 1 def. Don't know how many accounts I've made. Everyone isn't the same though, so maybe the switch is whats best for you.

 

I think slayer on a tank is slightly easier. Higher defence and camping blowpipe but using the same thing on a zerker you'd take more damage assuming you're not safe spotting. A tank should be quested enough to barrows gloves as well so I think they're equal. As for bosses, I think it depends completely on the boss and what role you have. A zerker attacking Bando would be much better. A tank at Armadyl or Sara isn't comparable to a what a zerker would be.

 

Range tank for PVMing, zerk for pking imo

 

Zerk can bandos and sara PVM but range tank can do armadyl and boss better

if u wana pk a lot range tanks r good but zerkers with barrows gloves and veng own

 

Id always go for the tanker, don't really like zerkers, 90+ranged 45-99 def and then 94 magic is the way to go for veng
