Man arrested for stealing Runescape accounts

I found this article which says that a 24 year old man was arrested for commiting a number of offences which relate to Runescape. They also said that Jagex are working with police and the FBI in order to track more people down. What could this mean for the future of the runescape black market if Jagex are cracking down on people? Discuss here.

 

Wow that's a sad story... "What are you locked up for big guy?"... "I stole runescape mils from a 12 year old".

I doubt they'll be able to do anything in America. I doubt anybody will bed convicted with fraud because fraud laws are so loose in this country. For example you can write down peoples credit card numbers and your not breaking any laws till you use them.

This bit cracked me up the most!:

It may look a bit extreme to arrest someone about it, but Jagex is just putting their foot down to show they have power.

Serves him right, shouldn't be stealing other people's accounts. Plus it's basically stealing from Jagex because all accounts are owned by them. Eh, deserves it in my opinion.

Hybanks2000: Yes, it is perfectly legal to jot down credit card numbers. Yet selling them to someone is when it becomes illegal. Same as posting them on a website and telling anyone "Here they are, do your worst!"
