Olympics Opening Ceremony!!!!! WOW

What did everyone make of it?

 

Absolutely breathtaking. I'd never felt remotely patriotic in my life until last night/

I saw a couple harriers flying over my house prior to the ceremony, was pretty good to watch though I must admit the Chinese have us bested.

 

It got pretty trippy at the end when they lit the torches in the center. Ceremonies like this, where countries from all around the world are involved, are always really cool to watch. gives you a good feeling inside

 

The rings was insane and damn Russia, slovakia has some hot women.

 

I thought it was great, Thought the scene with James Bond and the queen was top. Felt it was going to be a bit dodgy at the start tbh, but couldn't be more prouder to be English.

 

The rings where great, and well the whole ceremony pretty much was
I saw the first five minutes and I was like: crap this is gonna be a bad and boring one!

But after that they instantly swept you off your feet and it was mindblowing to see

 

Found it to be a great ceremony overall and was worth watching, even though I didn't prefer certain parts of the ceremony.

 

For every dollar it cost you could have fed two starving children in Africa for a day.

 

Im so proud to be a British man.

 

"For 15 cents a day and you can feed an African........... they eat pennies."

What does this have to do with the Olympics?

 

"Give African children money, so their corrupt governments can take it away from them."

 

I beg to differ!

 

Thought the opening ceremony was just alright, but in my opinion Beijing opening ceremony was much better.

 

Was fun to watch

 

It was a great ceremony. Rowan Atkinson was the highlight, the lighting of the torch was cool, the dance sequences were fun, and Paul McCartney/Queen were awesome. But, I still think Beijing had the best opening ceremony of all time.

 

Rich countries are focusing on frivolously, pointless competition instead of trying to end world hunger. Oh and they spend loads on pointless ceremonies that add nothing to the games themselves. The money could go to a much better cause.

 

Agreed, I liked both, but the the one in China was just epic.
