New ban appeal process

how come both were not unbanned? was there any difference in terms of the length of bann or offence.

So for those people who don’t play the game - you might already know that you could appeal bans through the RuneScape website.

This sythe post made me curious to see what the “new” update was - you can now appeal your ban through your RuneScape account settings, moreover, they give you a text box to enter the context of why you might have been potentially banned.

so, good luck, I just set my request in to get my old account unbanned, worth a shot

 

I put the ‘somebody else had access to the account’ option.

I will also update here with the result!

 

I don't think you will get it back tbh, unless there's strong evidence that someone else had you acc, ip adress etc.

Unfortunately my appeal got denied. i went with option: 3. I'd like another chance

Idk why it got denied, got a message from jagex support that a decision has been made in account status, and saw that my appeal was denied.

 

Got 2 out of 5 unbanned

Seems though when I went to unlock them it has removed my registered email and sends pw reset link to the login email which I dont have access to. Saaaaad haha

did you select the ‘it was not me in control of the account’ option?

 

Yes I did from the 5 appeals I did
3 of them were wasn't me
2 of them was apologise

Apologise both were denied and 1 of the 3 wasn't me failed also.

 

I appealed on a 2.5 year old ban & it was denied so its varies it looks like .. waiting to see if i’ll get a second attempt in the future

 

I just got my result!

I appealed on my 8 month banned account, stated someone else had access to the account (they didn’t)…

Made up a text about how it was compromised.

Unbanned.

For context it was my alt account 2.1k total level, with an infernal cape.

I’ll probably list it up for sale now too!

 

interesting, did the ip ever change, ei was there any indication that someone else had access to the account?

 

Well this isn’t sounding too promising for the apologizing option.

 

you're taking a shot in the dark if you got for option 3 , they either unban or don't. Some with 3 month old macro bans get unbanned. Myself 2.5 year old ban and still denied. I really only want the account back for the 200m thats on there could help but im okay with waiting for a second attempt.

 

Did you get denied under the new system? And if so, does it say when you can appeal again?

 

idk if u asked me, but ye i used the new system. no it doesnt say when i can appeal again. maybe never, maybe after 3 years.

 

I just got updates on my accounts a couple minutes ago. My oldest appeal was granted with just under 3 years. My 2 1/2 year ban was denied and my 6 month ban was denied. I did the apology for all of them.

 

How long it took for them to reply? curious
