My experience with RWT

I see a lot of posts on this form and others about RWT and what happens with the bans, so I wanted to share my story. I have a high level main, and I bought around 5B in one single go. I had a previous RWT warning and temp ban when they initially released their progressive disiplin plan around 1.5 years ago. The most recent temp ban was a 2 day ban (moderate). I had coins removed around 5m of the 5b I bought. I was given a message from jagex during this ban that stated if I continued to buy gold I would recieve a 7 day ban next. I transfered this gold to a new account that I created and let it sit for around a month. I then purchased another 2b in gold. The new account that had the gold was instantly banned with all 7b on the account within 6 hours of purchase. This was after being told that my main would have another progressive action taken that would result in another temp ban for 7 days. I am not sure what Jagex is currently trying to do with thier botting and RWT situation, but I am trying to give people a sample of what happened to me.

RIP. This could lead to increased gold prices, leaving nothing for the second-hand market, and heavily victimizing buyers.

 

I haven't had an issue like this, but I was never smart enough to buy all the gold in one chunk to trigger an insta-audit by a human Jmod.

People need to understand this: Buy your gold in increments and rest it on alts that you play on. Wash your money through items and small trades AFTER the account is aged out of the risk window. It may be more work and whatever, but it's worth the wait if it means not losing the whole trade to a Jmod.

You need to be smarter about your trades next time. That's the biggest gold trade I've ever seen anyone admit to, and you did it directly to your main. I've seen trades a fraction that size get an insta-ban with no priors, so consider yourself lucky. Maybe they kept your account alive on purpose to use as a free gold sink?

 

So first they issue a warning, then a 2 day ban, next a 7 day ban and after that a perma ban?

 

So I got one of the warning messages to my account when they first starting issuing them in like march 2022. It was months after I purchased any gold. Im a 2220+ lvl main. I didnt play at all in 2023, took a year off. Just started playing again and was hoping to buy some gold. My bank value is 4b, so I have some wealth already. Anyways, with a warning message thats almost 2 years old, am I at risk still if I were to buy some more.. im thinking a 200-300m. It seems as though I am really only at risk of a 3 day temp?

 

I wouldn't risk buying any more gp. Buy bonds and you're 100% safe

 

Sounds like you sabotaged yourself by transfering large sums to a fresh account as that definitely raises some flags in the system

 

That's the general way it goes, but there are occasional exceptions with instant perms or extra chances, depending on perhaps previous offenses on the account or other accounts on that IP

 

Buy gp on the new acc then slowly make "friends" with your main (including interactive pms etc) and transfer the gold as a gift, thank me later

 

Lol, that's a bit elaborate. But I can't say you'd be likely to get banned after all that work.

 

You transfered a large amount of gold to a new fresh account. This is the biggest red flag possible.

New accounts are treated the same as bots and sellers and get instantly banned.

Use aged leveled accounts to receive and hold gold. Play on them a while before trading significant amounts of gold. Otherwise this happens.

The upside of this story is that you've learned the lesson and probably will avoid making such mistakes in the future.

 

You traded large sums to an ALT account. People think that is deemed "safe" although that is just asking for problems.

It happens to people even when they are not RWTing such as solomission here.
