Marijuana, your opinions and how do you feel on it?

Hey guys, serious discussion. I went 19 years without trying cannabis, and now smoke it daily and it helps ease the stress of life, and makes me happy. I never had a drinking problem but i've pretty much quit drinking unless it's socially now. For some background, I have several diagnosed mental disabilities, and it helps me focus a lot and stay calm. I used to argue furiously with people about stupid things but now I don't care enough to argue.

1. What are some of your experiences with cannabis/marijuana that you'd like to share?
2. Are you for or against recreational marijuana usage, why? (Mine is more medical obviously)
3. Do you have any experiences with other drugs (or know anyone who does) explain the experience and if you'd do it again
4. If you're against marijuana, why?
5. If you do consume it, what are your favorite ways of consumption (Joint, bong, eddies), and why?

1) Personally, I have smoked cannabis on multiple occasions however, the drug has never really stuck with me for more than being a one-off novelty. I don’t really enjoy the high, I am more of a euphoria chaser. I don’t get much satisfaction from smoking cannabis.

2) I have no reason to bash people who wish to take cannabis, especially as most people live perfectly normal lives and use cannabis recreationally, not hindering there day to day life, this is a positive of the drug. I can understand that the legal and ethical implications of making cannabis legal (varying from country to country) are quite a head scratcher. I do agree with the use of medicinal cannabis, if it works to treat your symptoms who is anyone to argue with that fact.

3) I have tried a fair few drugs, I am guilty of still recreationally using a few of them. Like I said previously, I am very much into chasing a euphoric high.

4) I am not against cannabis however, I think if it was to be made legal that consideration of any implications should not be taken lightly. The same with any other drug that has the ability to inhibit the user.

5) In the past I have only ever taken cannabis by smoking it, either through a joint or a bong. I did prefer the joint method, it seemed to me a bit more relaxing to sit smoking a joint over taking hits of a bong. That’s just my preference.

 

1. I've recently started using Cannabis since our state had voted to legalize it recreationaly. And it's been a life saver. I don't smoke it on the daily but I use it to treat anxiety and depression along with IBS. And for those it works quite well.
2. I'm all for recreational usage but I do agree with the state that driving under the influence of marijuana is quite dangerous and I won't be doing that any time soon.
3. I have 0 experience with any other drug.
4. Nope.
5. I've only tried the joints but I'm looking to get a bong as the smoke becomes cooled much faster and it would lead to a more enjoyable experience.

 

Thanks for the response! If you're looking for a bong, I'd reccomend one with 2 percs, or at least one, it makes the pull so smooth.

1. I don't use the stuff personally, but it really does help my father, who's a cancer patient and has a lot of anxiety issues. It does a lot to help him deal with the cancer and the treatment, and it really calms him down.
2. I completely support the recreational use, and it seems silly that we even oppose it. It can have negative effects, but they're negligible and are completely worth it given the possible benefits. It's a pretty safe drug, all things considered.
3. I've got bad dental issues that used to cause me a lot of pain. I had to get a tooth pulled once and they wrote me out some damn good painkillers to take while my body got over the missing tooth. They made the mistake of telling me to take them whenever I felt any pain. Felt good and relaxed for a while, if a little numb. Probably wouldn't try it again though, a painkiller addiction is a nasty thing to pick up.

 

I truly don't understand how "opinions" contribute anything to this discussion.

 

I don't smoke it anymore due to having a child and not wanting the smell around him but there is alot of people commenting without knowing what the drug actually is and holds. If you can call it a drug. So were do i start? For one the plant itself is not banned the THC on the plant is banned itself in most countries. So the next part i'd like to say. This plant holds the most natural and effective antibiotic's within it having over 60 Thousands inside. Although i shouldn't have to go out to say how good it is for you and how it benefits you. The ''Bad part'' Is smoking the plant other than taking it in factors of ''Oil'' To anybody who say's cannabis is bad is like saying a cure is bad for patience's or distressed people. There are many ways to prove and contribute to this these videos go on forever due to it actually being extremely healthy for you're body and brain. As a child i first started smoking the plant to be ''a cool kid'' As i grew up i began to learn the plant and what it really was and what it did for humans and the earth itself. You know most loft installation use to be made out of cannabis sticks? and if a you plant the plants are at a radioactive place it will begin to reduce and clean the surrounding area. There is so many things that will only ever make this positivist other than negative. Remember paracetamols would kill you a'lot faster than cannabis ever would. Although nobody has ever died from cannabis upto date its proven by science you'd have more chance of drowning drinking water than ever being victim to cannabis. Were i stand on this plant myself. I personally believe more people need a real education on the plant itself other than ''Oh hes smoking a J down by the shop'' ''Oh look at him hes going to the 420 festival because he smokes weed!'' a lot of things but a bad name on a thing that truly is one of the most unique and different plants on the planet itself. If anybody read this far i give you props. You can find out all this information yourself by truly looking and researching the plant yourself. A FEW CASES IT HAS CURED CANCER. this is all hidden from the main page due to them hiding the plant and its true nature. All this being said Cannabis is the best plant on this earth hands down

 

My opinion on the matter is simple.

Marijuana is a natural medicine, the properties that one plant can hold can yield highly similar results for many man-made drugs.

I believe the reason marijuana is frowned upon so much is due to this reason, the profits that would be lost by big pharma, as-well as illegal state convictions would be drastic.

Just look at the advancements that have been witnessed since the 1930's film (Reefer Madness) to now - I believe marijuana was labeled as from the jump as "harmful" or "a gateway drug" only to lead you to the so called "safer" alternatives of prescription chemicals or social drinking.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against prescription medication nor social drinking - And as for marijuana I self-medicate multiple times throughout the day while still maintaining as a functioning machine to society.

 

I do think weed is a amazing drug. But it is abused and given a bad name by stoners. Hopefully won't be long till it is legal everywhere for health benefits

 

And all of you know not a lot about weed.... Jesus some stuff you lot are saying is wack lol

Weed was made illegal because of hemp and how cheaply hemp is produced compared to cotton.....

Just Google it... If it was not made illegal every one would be using hemp paper hemp clothes hemp furniture etc etc

Ive tried it twice. both times it was the worse experience of my life I totally hated it.

I have lots of experience but that's a story I'm not ready to talk about.

I smoke it every day. I smoke as well with friends, and at gigs as I go to a looot of gigs. It makes the experience so much better. It also makes me sleep like a baby at festivals and not have a hangover.

I'm for the legalization and taxation of marijuana. The ability to try a whole array of strains legally in a shop or whatever would be amazing!

I've done shrooms and MDMA. I'd do shrooms again but I wouldn't go wild for MDMA again, the comedown is shit, and you just talk the bollocks off people and piss them off.

I'm not. People smoke and drink. Why not smoke weed?

Usually in a joint, but here we roll it with tobacco because weed is expensive and it helps with the burn. I don't mind doing bongs, but i'd rather not in my flat.

 

I support the use of marijuana recreationally and medically, however, the 4 times that I have tried it, it's only caused me great anxiety, paranoia, and physical pain through heart palpitations, etc.

 

I feel that smoking or using marijuana is just a colossal waste of time but people should still be able to do it recreationally because why should people dictate what you do or don't do in your free time if it doesn't affect them and the health implications on the participating parties are negligible.

@ChoccyBrights i feel like there was not enough negatives here and honestly we are all on a bit of a weed hype trip lately. Ive been smoking weed since i was 15 and since 17 its been daily. Im slowly reducing and recovering and now more than even i start to understand the risks


From personal experience these are the big risks (Not Facts just the negatives i have from smoking regularily from age 15):
Sleep: i smoked daily for 1+ years, nowadays sometimes if i dont smoke in the evening i stay awake for 30 hours etc.
Appetite: Same principle as sleep, i barely eat when im not high and as soon as i smoke i eat like a monster
Anti-social tendency: i study psychology even some of my teachers have talked to me about anti-social behavior and often very regular smokers have social anxiety when sober
Paranoia: I think this is self-explanatory, if you smoke daily u even get paranoia when "sober" (bcuz ofc if u smoke daily u rarely are truly sober)

edit2: forget the obvious you get lazy and unmotivated but that for me is the weakest argument because if you have the mental strength to counteract those feelings it doesnt matter

Obviously there are massive benefits its been a massive help in my struggle with depression also people love me when im high if that makes sense

If you are not careful weed can spiritually change you. You can get enlightened by introspecting and thinking in a deeper way why we as humans are here(not gonna go indepth on this here but its not what the media or the government or your parents tell you). But there is a real danger in this too, the danger of going spiritually blind and this can happen if you are constantly high or recovering from a high. What i mean is it blind you from what really matters: love, positivity, making the world a better place. You start focusing on yourself more, but you simultaneously avoid honest introspection. You start focusing on material goods more than anything, especially money. Look at how the world is nowadays. All that seems to matter is "clout" and money. People talk like noone was there for me but mary was. anyway be carefull with weed it is one of the most harmless drugs but again abuse can lead to many many problems. I am still recovering from a deep depression which wasnt caused by weed but definately strengthend by it.

again, the first 4 points will probably become common fact with the legalization of weed and will happen if you abuse weed, the last part well think about it for yourself maybe you will understand what im getting at i am still far away from understanding it and especially bad at expressing it.

 

it is way safer than alcohol man, it is insane that its still illegal

 

I find I go into my own head, which isn't a bad thing, but prefer more social drugs as that's generally what I'm after. Don't drink/smoke/take drugs on my own

 

As for me, I really think that it is good for you. I have been using it for some time, and it works pretty well, I have to say. Maybe you will find the service from here interesting to you too, and you will learn more about it, good luck!
