Macroing Minor vs. Macroing Major

I'll compile a list as the thread progresses to help people understand what constitutes which offence.


Macroing Minor (14 day ban):

- For the time being DO NOT APPEAL MACROING MINOR OFFENCES, there have been instances of them being changed to macroing major offences after.
- New offence given out at times in place of macroing major.
- Rollbacked stats after being unbanned are a common occurence, but not guaranteed.
- Given out more frequently to P2P accounts; more leniency is offered to P2P.
- More commonly given out when an account is botting a skill without a profit; fletching, cooking, summoning (little to no gold is gained).


Macroing Major (Permanent ban):

- The old and true botting ban, previously used as punishment for every account caught botting. It is now used less frequently with new macroing minor bans.
- Still seen frequently in F2P accounts caught botting; they are not as lenient with F2P accounts.
- More commonly given out when an account is gold farming; picking flax, killing dragons, hunting, fishing, woodcutting (anything that yields a heavy profit).

 

My friend got a macro minor today for botting blue drags, it was blatantly a ban for botting but it was only 14 days and it was his first macro ban, so could be that.

 

Doubt its first time minor as I got banned for major back in 05's for auto clicking curse on zamy mage @ varock casttle, no idea but it shoud have differs.

 

Well for my macroing minor offence I got a reset of quite a lot of levels, not sure exactly how many and how long it reset back but yeah. I also got a 14 day ban

 

I always get major.

 

Well these macroing minor offences are new, so your old bans would not matter.

 

My account got 14 day ban for using AutoPuro Pro, but no rollback (Hunting was botted 1-97), is it random then we get rollbacks?

I believe for members first time getting caught is only 14 days and next time is perm
but for f2p if you get caught you get perm banned I am guessing

 

Not confirmed, but this has been true in the past.

 

Do macroing offenses that have "expired" still count against you for that warning ban?

 

My thinking is that they won't rollback unless they know exactly how much xp you botted. So if they aren't sure what you got from botting and what is legit, they just give macro minor.

My F2P account got banned permanently for major macroing. I suicided it for 2 weeks.

My P2P account got banned temporarily for minor macroing. I suicided it for 2 months.

 

Yeah, that sounds right.

Seems logical, they want business at the end of the day, and bots do give them it (p2p one's atleast).

 

i think minor also does roll backs

 

I got a 14 day temp, I'll be sure to post again once it's unbanned and tell if any rollbacks have occured.

What were you guys botting?

 

I just got a temp ban of 14 days for botting blue dragons. If all the other stats were legit you think any of the combat stats would be rolled back.
