Infernal Cape Banning Stopped?

I'm seeing some anecdotal reports/findings that Jagex has stopped their Infernal Cape removing and banning, and that clients who buy without remote control or vpn are unscathed 6 months+ after buying their capes.

Is there any validity to these claims or is it just bullshit? I used to follow Mod Tyran on Twitter back in the day, as he would post when they issued ban waves, but he no longer appears to do so.

 

It’s not something they would announce. The inferno came out over 5 years ago. It wouldn’t surprise me if they dialed back a bit on banning players and removing capes. Not purposely, but rather because the focus isn’t of importance anymore. I still would recommend using the same measures of detection avoidance when buying capes.

 

Maybe they realised that market will always find solutions for obstacles like this.

Likely scaling back to focus on other things. They probably realized that they barely made a dent in stopping it lol.

 

It does look like Jagex might be going a bit easy on Infernal Cape buyers. But even bots aren't feeling the ban hammer quite as much as they used to.

Even with all the discussions and rumors, I'd still recommend using parsec if you're thinking about buying one. It's just better to be cautious, especially when things seem a bit unpredictable.

There's speculation that they might be trying to boost their numbers, especially with the company up for sale.
