How to Recharge your IBAN staff.

Hey all,

The purpose of this thread is to teach (or re-teach) you all how to recharge your IBAN staff if you don't already know. I am selling a level 29 IBAN pure, and I thought it best to just refer whoever buys it to this thread, rather than having to email them all the pictures and all that stuff.

Items you'll need:
*Iban's staff
*Any bow (I believe a dark bow does work?)
*Some arrows, or fire arrows (you can use any arrows with any bow, aka rune arrows with a regular shortbow, but god arrows are not an option)
*A few ropes
*A spade
*A teleport out
*A plank (not actually necessary, I never bring it anymore)

Requirements:
25 Ranging
A high agility level is a distinct advantage
Completion of Underground Pass, Biohazard, and Plague City Quests.

*If you have lost your IBAN staff, all you have to do is kill a disciple of IBAN, and a 'broken staff' is dropped. Outside of the entrance to underground pass, there is a house that is the only non-ghetto looking house in west ardougne, inside will be a guy who will repair your IBAN staff for 200k. It maintains the same amount of charges as it had when you last lost it*


First, you need to get to WEST Ardougne, the exact location shown in this picture. If you don't know how to get to Ardougne, or don't know what Ardougne is, then this isn't the guide for you.


At that spot you'll see a cave entrance, enter it here.


Enter it, and you'll come up upon a swamp type area. DO NOT CLICK PASS ON ANY OF THE BUBBLES- simply use the minimap and click on the other side, and your character will avoid all of them.


Once across, you have a few options depending on what you brought. If you have regular arrows, talk to Koftik, who will hand you a rag. Use the rag on your arrows- it will make one fire arrow. Use the fire arrow on the fire to get a lit fire arrow (still shows up as 'fire arrow'). The end result must be fire arrows that are lit. Stand on the northern platform shown in this picture, and click "Fire-at Guide Rope." There is a chance of missing, and in that case you'll need another fire arrow. When you successfully hit the rope, your character will automatically run across the bridge.


Follow the main path until you reach an 'old spike.' Use your rope on the old spike as shown. There is a chance of falling off the rope- whether you succeed or fail you will lose your rope. If you succeed, skip the next step.


If you fell off the rope while walking across it, you will end up in a lower chamber shown below. Follow the beaten path, climbing over any rockslides (failable for 30 life points each) you encounter until you reach a place where you can 'climb up.' You will appear just inside the cave entrance and will have to re-do the bridge (which means you'll need another fire arrow!)


If you succeeded the old spike pass, continue down the path until you run into a two rockslides (failable for 30 life points each). Pass these, and you'll end up at the grid.


This is the most damaging part of the underground pass if you don't know your grid combination. If you run into a square that isn't your combination, you will take 150 life points of damage, no matter what. IF YOU DIE HERE YOU CANNOT BE BLESSED EVEN IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND WITH YOU. Show below is the combination for my IBAN pure. It is different for everyone, so don't go trying this one and getting mad because you failed. Once past the grid, pull the lever and it will automatically walk your character past the portcullis.


Once past, keep running west. Along the place where the walls grown narrow, there are some spikey things that will come out and hit you from inside the walls. You can disarm them, I just run past and take the damage, eating when necessary.


You will run into a well and an altar. Recharge prayer if you wish, and then climb down the well.


After you've climbed down the well, follow the main path by running west, until you reach some cages. The one you're looking for is the one with a patch of mud at the back of it, which is the first one.


Once you manage to pick the lock, use your spade on the mud.


Follow the narrow path, and once you reach a ledge, TURN RUN OFF- this increases your chance of success by a LOT. If you fail you'll take a small amount of damage and have to pick the lock and dig at the mud again.


Once you're across the ledge, you'll reach a network of stone bridges. If you're 50 thieving you can avoid these by running south and pick locking the door and following that path, it will take you to the end. If you're not, you have to cross 5 stone bridges. If you fail you will take 50 life points of damage and have to start over from SOME point, depending on where you are. The directional arrow in the picture shows the direction you'll be going across, as the camera is rotated.


When you're across all 5 stone bridges, keep following the path until you reach an obstacle pipe.


Through the obstacle pipe you'll almost immediately see a cave entrance.


Once through the tunnel, follow the path through some zombies, and then past 3 paladins- you'll be making one big loop. STOP at the flat rocks.


Two options here once again, you can either run past (you DO NOT take any damage), or you can use a plank on it and your character will automatically walk over. This is why the plank isn't necessary, as you won't take any damage by simply running across.



Once past here, keep running down the main path and you'll see a well. USE THE IBAN STAFF ON THIS WELL, AND IT IS RECHARGED. YOU NOW HAVE 60 PVP CASTS, OR 120 NON PVP CASTS.


Teleport out, and go have fun with your IBAN staff! The max of IBAN blast is 250, if you drink a mage potion it increases the max to 286.

Can you own/recharge more than one at a time?

Cuz that seems like a lot of work for 60 casts >_<

 

It takes less than 10 minutes- if you're a main it's not worth it, really only worth it if you make a very low combat pure like the one i'm selling here:

You can own more than one at the same time, though they SHARE the charges across the staffs. Each additional staff is received as "broken" as a 100% drop from the disciples of Iban outside Ibans throne room (provided you don't have a staff, you can drop your staff and kill a follower to get an additional one) - outside the entrance in ardy a person there makes you pay 200k to fix the broken version.

 

Nice guide, however, with damage boosts from particular staves, almost makes iban blast a little obsolete.

Too bad they don't give the staff a +5/+10% damage boost.

 

thats alot of work for such little profit... but how do you get another staff if you lost yours? o.o

 

The bonus of the Iban staff is that you can be a combat 27 hitting 286- which is usually enough to 1 hit the other person.

Added how to get your Iban staff back if you lost it.

Nice Guide, But i actually dont like iban staff's ;p

 

They're useless, this guide was really intended to teach buyers of my iban pures how to recharge the staff. Or if a main hasn't had one for a long time, and wanted to test it out
