Heroes

I have to write a 5 paragraph paper on the following question:

Why/why not are heroes important to our modern day society? Use examples in your thesis.

I'm trying to collaborate ideas so any contributions would be great!

Choose the less-argued point of view.
Argue that concept of heroes in modern day society is obsolete and antiquated.
It reduces originality, perpetrates one dimensional characters with no flaws and instills subjective morals.

You're telling me to grow up while you're trying to sell names like "doggy fuuck". Now what the fuck is wrong with this picture?

 

I would talk about the way that heros act as catalysts which facilitate change, or figureheads which people could rally around. That way you can incorperate all kinds of examples from modern society.

 

good examples are docters they are modern super heroes savin lives

or researchers find new cures for diseases

The first poster made a good point, Although I would go with what you beleive, If you have heroe's in your life then write about how they've effected you and how they enspire you or any old bull shit like that.

Unless im missing the picture and it's like actual batman heroe's and not role models. I dunno, You could say there good role models to young children and since most cartoon heroes are good guys they suggest if your good your more powerful and win more often.

 

I would probably use the claim that heroes are inspirational and act as venerable paragons that many people look up to.

On the flip side, you can argue that the august characteristics of heroes act as a means of sedation that appeases the lower echelons of society and ameliorates anger and discontent.
