[Food] Taco Bell - Beefy Potato-Rito Review

Apparently I haven't been keeping up with Taco Bell news because this one hit me by surprise. Here goes! Warning: Most fast food in my area are horrible. I went to a particularly bad location.

As you can see, the tortilla was undercooked or something. The tortilla ripped open and was a bit stiff and doughy. Tortillas should not rip that way - they should only rip where the tortilla is stuck to more tortilla.

Regardless, the tortilla here was unappetizing and tasted like shelf-tortillas. Normally Taco Bell hides this, but this was more apparent here. I can't take off points for this quality control error.

Looks like there was no shredded cheese to be found in the burrito. That's also an error, but there could just be a lack of cheese here. The burrito needed more cheese or nacho cheese in order to be satisfactory to me because the flavor of the nasty tortilla and the potatoes stood out to me. No cheese, no beef. The sauce (I got jalapeno instead, supposedly) tasted gnarly. It tasted like the chipotle sauce that it comes with, which I am not a fan of.

For reference, the $2.69 Cheesy Potato Burrito (Beef, nacho cheese, potatoes, sour cream) is pretty good, and the formerly $1 Loaded Potato Griller (potatoes, nacho cheese, bacon, sour cream) are miles above the Potato-rito. Fiesta Potatoes as well. They all have the perfect balance of cheese + sour cream to potato, so I don't know what went wrong here.

1/5. Product tastes like potatoes and tortilla. And sauce, if you get the sauce with it (I got one without sauce). Cheese and beef REALLY make the meal.

I wouldn't get this again. Maybe once more to retry it at a better Taco Bell, but this is what they attempted to feed me, so I reviewed it.

This time, it matches the taste.

 

I've been running low on time to make something good and have been eating out a lot and usually just get wraps or burgers from McDonalds, is there any fast food thing that tastes good and isnt a burger or wrap from mcdonalds? (askin u cuz u the food guy)

 

The fact that you're talking about wraps makes me think you live in the UK or Australia so I might not exactly know about your situation. My goto fast food items are the Wendy's Baconator... Used to get BK Rodeo Burgers... there's Subway that's a common fast food (Their chicken bacon ranch is actually good). Taco Bell has great LTO's sometimes, but I basically only like their Dorito tacos and the Crunchwrap. I'm not really a fan of anything at McD but when we had wraps those were actually pretty good.

Basically, my answer is go out and find what you like... I don't have an answer.

 

Wait whaaaaaat... they don't have wraps in the USA?
And I saw the commercials about the Baconator before, I'll check it out sometime. And I completely forgot about Subway, I should go there more often.

Unfortunately, no. They tasted great and I got like 20 coupons for free ones here so of course I was happy. There was one with habanero sauce that was simply amazing. The Baconator has been around for ages but I have noticed more advertising for it. Dunno what that's about, but it is a good booger. Yeah Subway is fine.. a lot of food for a meal sometimes but not a problem if you keep the other half for later.

Then there's pizza

I ate some eggs a few mins ago which usually make me feel slightly queasy.

After opening the insides of that burrito they just about came out.

 

Lol! Eggs aren't that bad... I used to have a minor aversion to eggs, but it didn't really stop me from eating them. Breakfast tacos are too delicious.
