[Food] McDonald's - Spicy Nuggets + Mighty Hot Sauce Review

Alright, so I was supposed to have posted this near day 1, but I didn't feel like retrieving my password and junk. I was super excited to try this, so here it is!

Price Paid: Around $1.70 using the McDonald's App



To start things off, the nuggets are fantastically freshly fried! I've never had hotter (temperature) nuggets. However, I have had spicier nuggets. The spice level on these nuggets was disappointing, as I expected it to be. The batter seemed to be thicker, or the chicken content was thinner vs. their original nuggets. I'd buy their original nuggets over these easily.

Mighty Hot Sauce proved to be a nice contender for a nice sauce. It isn't as robust as their Habanero Ranch was, and I'm not sure if it is as spicy but the Mighty Hot Sauce delivers quite the punch! Way more spice than I expected, it is actually a product I would consider spicy.

I initially wanted to compare it to Chick-Fil-A's Sweet n Spicy Sriracha until I realized it wasn't the same at all. There's no soy sauce flavor in the Mighty Hot Sauce, it isn't nearly as sweet, though it does have sweetness to it. It is also much, much spicier. Vinegar is the main component that sticks out other than the spice.

Took me a while to get more of the hot sauce / nuggets to re-review since they went out of stock.

I'd get the sauce again.

That's the flavor, but the spice was much more than that. Or maybe the sheer amount of sauce you get on a nugget helps out in that realm.

 

Just looked through your threads and you have some interesting ones like drinks from different countries. Irn Bru for $8 surely thats a mistake? I know shipping costs but before that, you said $19-$20. It's like the same price as a coke sprite etc in the UK of like £1 a bottle. I lol'd and agreed with your statement of getting out of Pak but they do have good food and for a drink falooda is a good one maybe you should try and review that some time

 

Funny story about that.. yeah I was paid $20 to review it and well I paid the full $20 to have it shipped over. I would regularly go to import shops and the international aisles in grocery stores. Never saw Irn Bru. RIGHT AFTER I review Irn Bru, it pops up in 3 different grocery stores, including Walmart, and the import store I frequented.

So yeah, I can now get it for $2-2.50 per bottle.

And wait, Pakola? I have PTSD about that drink haha. I'd be down to try falooda, gotta check with someone for advice on that.

 

Lmao falooda is nice everyone loves it although it is a desert. I've never had that pakola drink might just try it for the lols. Sting is a proper energy drink though and the only Pakistani brand drink I will ever have. How comes you didn't respond to my PM

 

Yeah desert is probably the easiest to enjoy universally.. but I guess it might be something that is better with certain tastebuds.. for instance like drinking a Thums Up with Indian food... they just go together... ooh Sting is by Pepsi / Rockstar I know they make good drinks

Nuggets are, but the sauce delivered on the spice. Sure, it isn't a robust flavor profile but the spice is excellent. Just a spicy n sweet n vinegary sauce.

 

There are sauces that are much better done. I'm not eating a dipping sauce for spice, I'm eating a sauce for additional flavor.

I think it delivers both, and in my opinion it easily outshines all of McD's other sauces. Their ranch is whack, the BBQ is super sweet but enjoyable. Sweet n Sour isn't my personal taste. Buffalo is buffalo. Honey Mustard is neat but I quickly want something different.

This one I can always enjoy.
