[Food] KFC - Spicy Famous Bowl Review

I normally don't like to post two reviews so close together, but I've always wanted to try a famous bowl and they have a new spicy version for only 3 bucks, instead of 5. Wow, what a deal!

Price Paid: $5 $3

So, the bowl has mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, popcorn chicken, and cheese all in a mostly mushy bowl (chicken stayed crispy). The spicy version adds nashville oil for da spice.

This product is more about the combination of flavors, and honestly isn't much of a "new" item. The crisp of the chicken works well with the pile of mush, but sweet corn stands out way too much for me in a lot of dishes, and this is one. I wish I got it without corn, but whatever!



There isn't much to say about most of the ingredients.. they taste how you'd expect them to taste. The Nashville oil is the only standout here, and it kinda doesn't work with the bowl. I wish the chicken was marinated in the oil, or they used a thicker version of the oil to coat the chicken, instead of just drizzling oil (which btw, I asked for extra? So what you see is extra). It tasted good, but just wish there was more of it, specifically on the chicken.

Cheese may as well not have been there as far as flavor goes.

High 3/5. Price is decent for the Calories and weight, but the corn and Nashville oil leave something to be desired.

I'd get it again with no corn, and would REALLY get it again if the chicken was tossed instead of drizzled.

solid review fam. I love spicy shit so I had to go out of my way to try one but honestly I prefer a normal bowl. The spicy oil just didnt mix well with the gravy / potatoes in my opinion.

 

Right? I felt like the oil didn't mix well either... I also had their crispy colonel sandwich, not sure if it was a new item or not but that was a pretty good sandwich (Chick-Fil-A - ish).

 

Shit like this makes me jealous of you Americans. That is all.

 

Other countries usually have SOME unique items.. but yeah, I guess we're spoiled and used to it .
