Curious about vesta longsword? Look here- statistics

Here are my results from owning 3 of these swords.
The vesta longsword, priced at 9.8m in GE (that usually never buys, and is 15m street often), is the most powerful melee weapon in rs (overall).
It has a requirement of 78 attack.
the corrupt version has no special attack so don't bother unless you're a 'corrupt pure'!




Sword one
Some notes: I used my sword always above and including 25EP, while killing my targets.

Fights lasted (using 4 specs per fight): 40

Profits (with my pking skills obviously ):
Kill 1: 900k
Kill 2: 1100k
Kill 3: 226k
Kill 4: 1270k
Kill 5: 846k
Kill 6: 226k
Kill 7: 80k
Kill 8: 50k
Kill 9: 550k
Kill 10: 2100k
Kill 11: 1003k
Total kill profit: 8445k

Deaths: [I usually bring full rune with obby shield and rune gloves, but there was an incident where I brought fire cape and d boots and other expensive gear]
Total 3m loss

Sword 1 total profit: 5442k, vs the 9800k cost



Sword 2
Some notes: I always brought d boots and barrow gloves.
However, this time I ONLY KILLED TARGETS; I never used my sword for regular fights.

Fights Lasted: 35
Profit: 13,830k (Str bonus does matter, trust me, can make difference between a k0 and non k0.)
Deaths: 4400k (reflecting my huge risk)

Total profit sword 2: 9430k, vs 9800k cost



Sword3
I didn't bother bringing d boots, just barrow gloves. AGAIN, I ONLY USE FOR TARGETS- never for regular fights.

Fights lasted: 36
Profit: 7222k
Deaths: 2500k
Total profit from sowrd 3: 4778k, vs 9800k cost



Risk while using the sword- the gear
To use the vesta longsword, you usually gotta be wearing a set of rune with a zerker/neit, obby shield (or a rune defender), and a d scim. The cost of that plus food and pots add up to 500k. Actually, exactly 500k.
So each time you die, gf 500k. If you decide to use d boots and barrow gloves that amount is bumped up to 1m. If you use a rune defender it may be 200k less, but those are a pain to reget.

What helps a lot, but adds about 2.5m to the risk, is using a whip over a d scim. If you choose to go this route make sure you use d boots and barrow gloves or your risk will go to waste.. at this str bonus you will hit 44s with 99 str and piety, making it a lot easier to yank out the vls for the k0. Note that wearing a whip makes it twice as easier to get a fight; when you hold a d scim most think you're using claws so they don't bother to fight you, but if you wear a whip they don't see the vls coming.



So is Vesta Longsword Worth it!

Now let's see, so on average it lasts about 37 fights per sword, that is you use it for just special attack.

On average, you lose about 3.2m per sword. Putting into consideration that you have My pking skills, my risks (to m maximize str bonus), and my stats, which are 88 attack 99 str 72 def 71 prayer. And of course killing targets only.

If you decide to k0 kids all day for fun, doubt you'll make even half of the cash back.

However, the power of the sword is ridiculous- I never hit anything under 20 with the special and it ALWAYS hits, unlike that dirty ags spec that gives you a 0 when your opponent is red barred >.>
You get 4 special attacks that strike at baxe speed- faster than a godsword. after each sword hit, your opponent can eat a max of 2 food before your next hit, which is only if they're on a fast computer. The ags allows time for them to eat 3 food, so a k0 could be a bit tough.


Bottom line: Worth it if you want to have 37 ish fun fights, but it becomes very tempting to k0 kids all day with it and use it even when not using the spec since the sword has the raw power of a godsword in str bonus and hits faster, so you end up wasting 8-9m a lot of the time. Treat it as a whip- protects over many items but not barrows!
As I said, treat vesta longsword as a fun sword to smack noobs with and k0 kids all day. I've had half of my fights last just a mere 5 - 10 seconds. Awesome if you wanna make a really nice pking video. Just don't cry about losing money, because you will NOT make your money back.

Is statitus warhammer worth it then? It only has 2 special attacks, so if you're fast it may work, but most of the time I don't find it worth it.

Note that you could also add the vesta/statitus armor set to the mix for the 25% damage boost and strength bonus, but those are very expensive and nearly impossible to buy. most of the time people just run off in fright.

Awesome sword for pvp. Tried it, it was a one time thing though.. because the sword costs too much for me to pvp with.

I suppose it also depends on luck and if you die or not. I'm sure you could have profited off sword 2 if you didn't die.

True dat, but you would have to be VERY lucky with your drops. In all your fights, you would have to literally k0 the kid in half of them (which isn't very possible because a lot of people safe and other bs) and get a drop worth at least 500k everytime, and not die once
