can someone explain why steadfast boots are so expensive

why are they 40m and there not even that much better then dragon do they do somthing els?

 

Because it is more vulnerable then dragon

 

They're hard to obtain. Think of fury vs. glory. It's about 100x the price there too but only slightly better. When an item is deemed the best of its kind in the game, the demand is sky high

 

If the cost was significantly lower, people would not kill Glacors to get them.

When the boots first came out, they were around the price they are now. After a few days of their release, they started to get lower and lower, and as a result Glacors became empty.

This resulted in the boots rising in price again, to the price they are today.

People are only going to go through effort to get something if it is worth it. You have to Mage Glacors, so if the boots get cheap enough, it isn't worth your runes or your effort killing them.

 

Rarity... They are much harder to come by.
Also although what is it 1 or 2 strength bonus may not seem a lot, it actually is a decent amount.

 

To get steadfast boots you have to camp for hours and hours and hours. While you are there you are taking a loss from runes and other supplies and they also nerfed the effigy drop rate(why most people went there in the first place).

It makes sense that they cost a lot.

 

Not to mention:

Simply because they're the best, and people will buy them for that price.

 

Hard to get an best, thats why

 

i once read that in most mmo's the best gear is usually approximately 10x the cost of the next best thing

 

It's like asking why is a santa so expesive when it has no bonuses.
It's rare, and people want it.
