How to bot sercretly?

Well, I want to bot overnight but my parents usually shut off the computer is there a way for me to bot without the computer appearing to be on? Such as in hibernate/sleep mode?

 

I think sleep mode might work...

I cna't remember what it's called because I never do it, but, my sister sometimes misclicks on shutting down the comp and the light turns from blue (meaning it's on), to orange (meaning it's not off but not on so I'm guessing it's asleep).

However, the bot is still on.

What I do is stay up until my parents go to bed and then shut the monitor off so it appears as if the comp is really off even though it's not.

 

Actually if you do turn off the monitor lights, and switch function keys to make them change on brightening/darkening the screen, and somehow muffle the computer sound, it could look dark and off, aslong as they dont hear it.

 

Err.. None of these really helped sorry, anyone else?

 

Talk to them? explain them what a runescape bot is, tell them it plays for you so you don't have to be a 24/7 rs nerd.

You can disconnect the computer LED'S the cable looks like this: also if the fan is making too much noise disconnect it, although your computer might crash. To reduce the risk of the computer overheating set your a/c to 65

 

Haha, they'd shut it off either way.

 

Just hide the computer if it's a laptop or shut off the monitor if it's a desktop. Your computer cant be that loud.

That's how to hide windows, not for the computer appearing to be off/asleep.

 

My bots run even when my computer is asleep. Have you tested your bots to see if they will run on your sleeping computer?

 

I didn't see you reply to this so I'll suggest this again. Also, you can cover up the lights on the computer by using a cloth/stickers or something.

 

You need to enable your network adapter to work while in sleep mode.

You need to go Device Manager > Then Network Adapters > Then right click and go properties > Click on "Power management tab> uptick the box that says " Allow the computer to turn this device off to save power".

Then run your bot and put the computer into sleep.

This works for a lot of people but not all, I think it depends on your network adapter. Good Luck.
