    Graffiti, art or not?

I personally consider it art, although a lot of people have shitty tags there are some truly talented graffiti artists out there like Banksy for example

    Graffiti, art or not?

I see a ton of pointless tags that I do not consider art, but once and awhile you do see the work of a grafitti 'artist' around the city.

Grafiti is art, especially when it conveys a socially relevant message.

Well, most of the are art to me, because they are well sprayed and have an intricate design, they look cool as well . However, there are some that look like crap, with little (if any) attempt to make it look nice.

    Graffiti, art or not?

It is art, just some people use it as something else sometimes.

    Graffiti, art or not?

It entirely depends on the quality/significance of the graffiti.

Graffiti is a type of art by definition. I don't think that it is the best way for people to express themselves though.

    Graffiti, art or not?

Honestly everything is art. Just because something is vandalism doesn't mean it isn't something creative. If some kid draws on his test, teachers consider it vandalism in their own way, but if a kid drew that same thing for his art project he may as well get an A+.:p

    Graffiti, art or not?

It depends on how it is implied.
If it's saying "fuck the niggers" or "Fuck the OTHERGANG" then yea.. it's defiantly not art.
But if it's a nice mural, or a picture on a wall, then yes it's art(Pics a few posts up)

    Graffiti, art or not?

Just writing plain letters, in black, writing racist/stupid things is just not art.
Close to my house, there's a kind of traffic-pit, and on the walls, people make the most beautiful pieces of art. Someone even made a memorial for his friend who has past away. It's 3 by 4 metres, and it looks real. That's what art is about, remembering people, and entertaining people

    Graffiti, art or not?

I personally think graffiti falls under Art, as it takes skill & talent to be made.

    Graffiti, art or not?

It really depends on the graffiti, if it is just stupid like a word or something, then it isn't art but Graffiti to a certain extent is definitely art.

    Graffiti, art or not?

Obviously people who says its not art haven't seen some of Banksy's stuff. I saw the one in Barcelona last week.

    Graffiti, art or not?

Graffiti is Art, it's just most graffiti is done illegally, which gives graffiti creators bad names.
