    Western Union question

I'm planning on using WU as payment option for selling my gold. I'm just curious as to how it goes down as it is different from paypal. This is assuming the buyer goes first.

Buyer goes to WU to send the money. (Can it be done online?)
Seller goes to a WU place to get the cash.
    Seller sends over gold.

I read that you can check online if the money is sent. Is this true and if does say it is sent, can the buyer possibly cancel the payment. I'm wondering because these trades might take some time to complete.

Lastly, what form of ID is needed to receive the cash? The only picture ID I have is from school, no drivers license or state issued ID.

Money can be sent online with a credit card.
You can check if it was sent online.
There is no way to cancel payment or chargeback once it is sent.
You may need photo ID depending on place you go to.
Might want to introduce the idea to a parent so they can pick up cash with you.

Alright thanks for the info. I can always ask the nearest location so see what type of ID they accept, if not I can go to my parents.

Actually the sender CAN most certainly cancel a payment that they have sent, provided the receiver has not picked it up yet. Once it was been picked up you cannot cancel. If you cancel a payment you'll probably lose the fee though.

    Western Union question

I assume that if the money is sent straight to the bank account it will not be possible for the sender to cancel the payment?

I've never used that option, but I assume it would still be classed as "picked up" and therefore non-reversable, might want to check that to make sure though.
