but srsly though i do baseball practice for varsity for 4hrs and i'm like alright that was a good workout, i learned some new tactics but after 4 hours of soccer practice i just feel like collapsing, i can barely move. no comparison. you have obvouisly never watched the world cup either because those africans were the biggest people i have ever seen besides fat ass line men on a american football team.

I'm bumping this thread for those who think baseball > soccer. I'll go ahead and counter all of your reasons as to why you think baseball > soccer.

Baseball players are much more durable, they play about everyday(even after traveling), play for 3-4 hours. They also show up to practice very early as well. They'll do all the basic fielding/ hitting drills.

They practice everyday in the batting cage, but yet you only see players hitting .300ish(good players). And why is hitting .300ish good? Because it takes a lot of skill to hit the ball.

How are they more durable? They don't even 'play' everyday for 3-4 hours; they're usually sitting around in the dugout waiting for their turn to come up, and when they do step up to bat, they're usually on the field for a maximum of 5 minutes. Coming to practice very early isn't even a reason as to why baseball > soccer because almost every athlete goes to practice very early.

Again, you're up to bat for a total maximum of 5 minutes and you're talking about skill. Yes, it's very hard to hit a baseball, but that's the only argument you can make for baseball > soccer.

Baseball players sit for a hell of a long time. Even if they DO somehow hit the ball, they run 400ft ish or so to first base, maybe 800 to second. How many times does that hitter go up to bat? Once? Maybe twice? (I don't really know, but I know it's not much). I'll just say twice, give them the benefit of the doubt. So that's around 1,600 ft ran while hitting. We'll add another 400 ft for outfield, so a total of 2,000 ft ran.

In profesional soccer, the estimated distance ran is 29,040 ft. That's 5 1/2 miles. Baseball doesn't compare.

LOL at people even considering Baseball a sport. And comparing it to football? LOL. Let's look at it this way. A soccer player cover anywhere between 10 and 15 kilometres a game. A baseball player will be lucky to get 500m. Soccer requires dribbling, tackling, shooting, pace, strong weaker foot, heading ability, etc. All of those things Baseball does not require. Baseball is popular in Japan and America, Soccer is the world sport. The FIFA World Cup is the second most watched sports event in the world, only surpassed by the Olympic.

But if you're looking for a game for real men, Rugby League by a mile.

Nice to know, but this isn't track.

I'm sure I can find a list of things Soccer doesn't require.

Yea, Soccer players jog ffor most of the game. Why do they need tackling? I'm sure it is not allowed, as I see players crashing to the floor after the slightest contact....resulting in a foul.

    *Face Palm*

You are the King of the idiots.

    Baseball>soccer.

Why? All you have to do in soccer is dribble and Shoot...only using your legs.

Baseball players legs are very strong.....Hmm..

Oh also you have to have massive upperbody strength to be able to hit a baseball 400 yards....

    Oh and also...Pitchers....

I dont think you can make a ball break 4 inches....Or hit a ball that is 90mph and breaking 4 inches....in your life.

Outfielders....Have to be allways running...Diving for balls

    Infielders...Diving plays...Running... Throwing...

Catchers- Have to be able to catch a 90 mph fast ball/breaking balls. Have to be able to block them. Have to be able to throw someone out in a second...etc.

    Baseball>Soccer...

    Case closed.

Baseball is better, nobody wants to watch some random people kick balls around for 3 hours and see a 0-0 score.

This is a response to all Owntz statements:

You are the King of the idiots.
Says the moron arguing that baseball is better

    Baseball>soccer.
    wrong

Why? All you have to do in soccer is dribble and Shoot...only using your legs.
Dribble around people who are running into you pushing you and trying as hard as they possibly can to get the ball off you, wheres the physical contact in baseball... owait

Shooting, how bout you try and shoot the ball at 65-70 mph accurately, come back and report the results.

Passing - A soccer pitch is about 120 yards long by 70 yards wide, and you have to be able to pass it right to where it needs to be, from a distance.

Running - Soccer players are in motion the entire game, baseball players sit on their ass or stand on a field waiting for the ball to come to them the entire game.

Baseball players legs are very strong.....Hmm..

    So are soccer players.....hmm....

Oh also you have to have massive upperbody strength to be able to hit a baseball 400 yards....

You also have to have upper body strength in soccer to be able to defend successfully and also to shield the ball successfully

    Oh and also...Pitchers....
I'll admit, pitchers have the hardest job in baseball, but if throwing a ball accurately only 60 feet away is the hardest part of a sport, well.... I'd say that isn't really a difficult sport.

Outfielders....Have to be allways running...Diving for balls
When the ball is even hit out there, over half the time the hitter will strike out or ground out.

    Infielders...Diving plays...Running... Throwing...
When the ball is hit to them...

Catchers-Have to be able to catch a 90 mph fast ball/breaking balls. Have to be able to block them. Have to be able to throw someone out in a second...etc.

A goalie has to stop a soccer ball going anywhere from 60-100 mph, soccer ball weighs more then a baseball and is going about the same speed when kicked. I believe the fastest recorded kick was somewhere around 130 mph, while baseball's fastest pitch was... 105mph?

I completely agree with the original post, although I will say that when the World Cup is on, I tend to enjoy that very much
