[iPod Touch] Broken/Frozen? Help Please [2nd Gen?]

So I need some help with my iPod Touch. I bought it in March (2010.) It's 8Gbs. When I turn it on, it say connect to iTunes, that screen. I've tried resetting it, and everything. I've connected it to iTunes, but then iTunes says it cannot connect to the device because it's locked, to enter your pin and unlock it. But I can't unlock it, because it's on the connect to iTunes screen, and you can't leave that screen. What can I do to fix this?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks, Jake.

Put it in DFU mode and restore.
