I EFFING HATE TEXT.... the hardest part in the sig has to be text..... sumone post a good tut on text.....

anyone rate these sigs....

Love it I need help with text too :s It tends to ruin most of my work xD

 

Text comes with experience and knowing what looks good on the eyes. You shouldn't worry about text till you get everything else down first.

second one is wayy better. More dull, but shaded well with the contrast and tint.

 

I avoid putting text in my tags these days, and they're all still just as effective without as they would be with text... it's really not a necessity to include it.
Avoid framing your work with borders, as it can kill the flow and lead the eye in all sorts of directions.
Proportionally it's also a little off - too much empty space on the left hand side of the tag.
