    Anyway to stop a "recover battle" on a bought RS account?

    Ok, so it seems everytime I try to buy an account or something...After a few days the seller trys to recover the account back, and does so successfully, I then also recover back successfully, and this goes on until the account is locked. Then, I cannot unlock the account and niether can the owner...Is there anyway to stop this from happening if the seller keeps recovering the account? I know I should look for people with more vouches and respect in account selling, but it seems like every person selling in the 100-138 section are leechers.

    if you both try to recover it, the account will get locked. There is no avoiding it

    I figured that...But, the thing is I've bought an account from here like 3 or 4 times, and the same thing always ends up happening..I'm 13 so it's kind of a big thing when I lose $60-$100 every so often. Is there a way to stop them from recovering? Because it seems there wouldn't be, if both of you have full information to the account.

    You kind of just answered your own question. Don't trade with leechers or anyone that isn't trusted anymore in the 100-138 section.

    Hmm ok, but that's kind of hard..because every single freaking thread I see is by a person who has like no vouches, or is a leecher. Guess I will try to find a more trusted person selling an account, if the trade I'm doing right now doesn't work out.

    And to you...I have no idea what you just said.

    He's saying that you shouldn't log on for a while to see if the person recovers so you won't have wasted time on the account, and say if the last login was 2 or 3 months then it's safe to say he won't recover (most of the time).

    This would be my advice.

    Buy an account and make sure the MM verify all of the information they give you by trying to recover the account. If the recovery works then you know the info works as well or it will tell you what they didn't give you. After you get the account change the recovs/email. Your best option would be to make it members through a credit card. When you make it a member with your card keep all the transaction details because they will be of a big help to you when you need it.

    So in the end they have:

    All the past info w/o: Recovs/Email/Membership Details

    You have:

    Everything = You win.

    Hope I helped.

    or if the other person does recover.

    Leave the acc and dont attempt to recover

    Then lookup the acc via tracking them to see xp gains
    If none recently then its safe to recover

    How complicated is it?

    I'd ring Jagex and say that;

    • You saved all your details in a notepad
    • You got a virus, and the person got all your information
    • You keep recovering it, but because they have the information also, they can recover it too

    Might work, might not, I don't know.

    I'm not sure this would help...because basically...you have just newer information that the OO doesn't have, but, that won't really help because using the old information that he still has, he can still recover...Although, I'm not sure he could successfully do a lock appeal.

    Yea, I've bought 3 accounts and only 1 hasn't been recovered yet. It doesn't matter if they give you all the details, they could be lying about some of them or holding back the more important ones (first transaction info, first pw, etc...)

    Now I just don't buy any accounts at all. They are almost always scamming you.

    You can say you were hacked and they know the old info and you have all the new info. And if you become members with a CC they tend to trust you more.

    I don't even deal with accounts anymore. They always get recovered. I played one for 4 months.

    This does nothing. They can recover the next day and you have no proof.
