    Help with my rogue!

Hi guys, as you know i just started wow, i first tryed a priest and got him to level 15 and i really didn't like the game style of priests, so i rerolled into a rogue. It's now level 20.

My friend said that rogues can't do all raids because they are melee based characters, isit true?

Also, i'm finding it hard to get a pvp talent build. Which is better? Combat and subtlety (for shadow step), or combat and assassination? If these others please let me know.

    Thanks guys ;)

Well I don't know about specs but..
You're friend is wrong..Melee based characters are "needed/wanted" in some occasions but don't worry There is two different types of DPS:
    Up-front DPS:Retribiution Paladin,Enchan Shaman,Rogue,Death Knight.
    And Ranged DPS:Elemantal Shaman,Hunter,Mage,Balance Druid,Shadow/disc priest,Warlock.
Usually Ranged-DPS is wanted ALOT..But don't worry rogues get in Raids/heroics easilly like any other class.

Yea your friend is bsing you.
As for talent builds its all down to your play style.
If you want to open up a fight with huge damage and get it over and done with quickly go sub but if you want to fight more than 1 target i would say go combat.

For pvp i personally go sub/assin but tis what you feel best with.

Duel spec will cost you 1k gold(correct me if im wrong) and all it does is gives you 2 tallent builds that you can switch between. For example a warrior could be in Arms spec but if he gets asked to tank alot he can buy a duel spec and make it protection so if he gets asked to tank all he does is switch his talents and he can tank.

For you the only way i can see you needing it is if you want to raid AND pvp.
Your main pvp spec would for example be Sub but your other one would be combat for raiding because its better for raiding.

For pvp go either with a sub spec or mutilate spec which is also quite good and fairly easy to use.

    Shadowpanther.net
Also, if he's not Undead already I'd advise you to re-level an Undead Rogue.

    Help with my rogue!

If you have to roll alliance you should go nelf.

Also dont worry about duel spec until your rich.
PvP can level you up but tis quite slow , i would wait till 70 as someone else said.

Undeads are usually the best choice for pvp, and still a strong contender vs orc for PvE just because of the Will of the forsaken, making you rape most clothies, (Priests, Warlocks) And Cannibalism is a very nice additive for world pvp, though lately it's not been seen since most of pvp is blow up the clothies, But yeah, good pvp specs atm are poison mut, most rogues are leaning towards poison damage lately, removing mitigation from the charts making their damage a lot higher, and for PvE mut daggers is good, and Combat also, I don't think HaT subtly is very viable anymore, but if you did some graphing I'm sure you'd be able to find a decent spec that would work, but overall I'd say mut is best if you can get the right items.

    Help with my rogue!

    Here's the skinny:

Don't judge a character based on >20 stuff.
Put SS on 1... spam it... win...
    Go Combat
As a rogue, you'll be able to do EVERYTHING well (except healing and tanking, obviously)
    Go get 'em, tiger

HUMAN OR GET THE FUCK OUT.
Humans have a racial that pretty much gives them an extra trinket spot in PvP. They are the best race for PvP on Alliance.

You should re-roll Undead. Leveling to whatever level you are at right now is VERY easy, and the reward is much better than terrible, terrible Shadowmeld. If you need to be Alliance then roll Human, but in all honestly it's much more fun to play Horde wherever your friends play Ally.

Its not SO BIG of an advantage that you should ditch your friends and go horde....
Human's have something similar to UD called Every Man For His Self(or himself...) and shadowmeld is O.K.,but I think NE get an agility boost?

I don't really think it'd be that fun leveling if i was just by myself :/. Also, if i did go undead can i transfer my money to that character?

    No you cant =/

And yes nelfs do get an agil boost and shadowmeld can be very useful if used properly.
Horde is the way to go man.

I know what you mean but i don't think undead get that much of a advantage, maybe a little. And in Alliance i can get help from friends i suppose. Now i'm leaning towards making a shadow priest, they any good?
