When you sell accounts...

When people sell their accounts for 100-200 dollars, accounts with millions of GP's, and over 2000 totals... I can't help but think that's a horribly low amount of money for countless hours of work. If it took me three hundred hours of gameplay to reach 2000 total, that'd bring me to a 0,65 dollar salary. You get better paid selling sand in the desert, water at a lake, insect repellent at a hospital, selling paper in a paper factory, selling condoms to lesbians...

I don't mind you all selling your accounts, I just think you're being ripped off of your time

 

well most people look at runescape as FUN rather than WORK...

 

If that is the case, why do they buy the accounts rather than training them themselves? =)

The reason those accounts go for 100-200 dollars is because it's most likley a scam. You could probably get more selling it to a site like Gold4Rs.

Although, I sold my 124 with 1 Summoning for 150$.

 

well a lot of people look at it this way.

they spend their time having fun playing the game and then sold their account for what they see as a staggering amount. that is how some people look at it.

People dont do it for a living so dont make it seem like they are..

Also people are ENJOYING what they do, that's crucial.
It's like getting paid 0.65USD/Hr to drink alcohol or something, something you like.

 

Well, like others have said it's some money back from all the wasted hours on rs. Also it's not like kids have much more than that to spend on accounts and nobody wants to risk anything higher. The reason lately you will see accounts with a lot of gp going for less than the mills are even worth is because there are no worthwhile transfer methods.

 

I see your point, but ppl aren't going to pay for account stats : 50mining 50woodcutting all rest 1 lvl 3 combat. It would take me 1 day, my price is 50$ but ppl are just not going to pay that, they better buy lvl 120 for 50$. So yeah, prices are very very low.

because if you know how to make 100m a day (i know a friend who knows a new method of merching) then selling for 10-20 bucks each is just too much because you can get 1k-2k IRL money a day and life the huge life

Well I'm sure some people would. I mean, some people did buy party hats when they were worth like 1 - 2 grand USD.
But yea, the main reason RuneScape stuff isn't thousands of dollars is because people train the accounts, achieve the items, etc. for fun, therefore making any money is a good thing to them, because basically your getting payed to do something you like.

I can almost bet it's, probably alot less then $.65 an hour.

But as stated, people don't make runescape accounts with the intention to make an income by sell it (rarely atleast), it's just for fun and when you quit, why not profit a bit off of it?

 

2 more reasons they're cheap:

1- rsbot is so easy, even a retard could use it (like simma)
2- the chance of scamming is very high

 

I think the reason is because you can:

1. Quit Runescape and never touch your account again and let it go to waste.
2. Quit Runescape and sell it, any amount is better than nothing.

Its mainly teenagers buying accounts, they don't have heaps of money. Or most don't anyway, i know theres a couple out there that seem to have heaps of money to waste *cough* Rare Names *cough* .

 

It's a hobby. People will pay for their hobbies if they have the money. I know I would.

 

Those people who are really addicted to the game.

 

runescape is just a hobby, majority of people play it for fun not a profit. And if when people quit why not make a little 100-200 dollar bonus. I mean it might not be much, but its alot better than nothing.
