[PENDING][Donator Suggestion] Implementation of Bold/Italic Profile Posts

I've currently not seen this on anyone's profile however I think this should be a thing. It's not something that would be problematic to Sythe donators, however I think it can be done.

My suggestion is to allow profile posts to be bold/italic. Here's what something like that would look like:

I don't think this suggestion is over the top, but I think it would be a nice edition to have as a donator perk.

 

Would be something good to add when someone jumps from $300-$500.

 

Support. Would be a nice harmless addition as a donor perk. Presumably it's an easy implementation? @Shin @Matthew?

 

Bold lettering on profiles should be for all donor amounts. It’s not that enticing of a perk.

 

Tbh does that need to be a donot perk at all? Like I see no point in making it a donor perk. It can be added, sure, but no support to make it just a donor perk.

Now if you said make it where you can say more then 140 characters, sure make that a donor perk. But adding bold and italics I don't think you need to be a donor for that.

 

The whole point of making it a donator perk is to simply encourage individuals to donate more to the site, a donator perk does not need to be over the top. It's just an extra perk that would encourage people to donate more to the site.

What is your reasoning behind not making it a donator perk?

 

Adding it to be a donor perks makes Sythe look like its trying to nickle and dime you for money for useless features. Having Bold or Italic profile post is a useless feature, making it worth $0.

Again if you said expanding the amount of characters allowed, sure I would say maybe that's worth 5$ donor status. To have my font bold or Italic on my profile post that 80% of people wont view unless viewing my profile, I find it worthless.

But this is just my opinion. Doesn't mean it is the best or right.

 

Firstly I would like to point out that adding bold/italic feature is not useless. In fact, since bold stands out, it would actually make profile posts look more appealing. Allowing everyone to get this feature would remove the authenticity of the feature in the first place.

The main point of a donator perk is not to donate for a single feature. This would just be one of the perks that donators would get. Not saying that people would donate solely for this perk but in my opinion, it's a pretty cool feature for donators to have.

 

Again. It is just my opinion. Not gunna sit here and fight over something so small.

Just saying. It should not have to be a perk to type in bold or Italics.

 

It's not a matter of fighting, you posted on this thread and I decided to reply to it. If you didn't want to get a response then you didn't have to post.

It's a matter of explaining why you don't see the feature as useful. In your original post, you said "No support" without explaining much in detail why you didn't support it. That is considered a spam comment.

 

It no support cause you shouldn't have to pay to bold or Italics your font. Perk or not. It's a great thing to add just doesn't need to be a donor perk.

 

Any donator perk that is added encourages people to donate. The more people that donate means that the longer the site can run for. If there are a lack of perks for donators then less people will be inclined to donate meaning that the site won't be able to run for as long. The whole reason this perk was suggested is to allow donators to stand out amongst the non-donators however, it seems you have missed the point here.

I would say that more people view profiles than you think. The main reason people use their profile pages is to link their vouch thread (so they don't have to find their vouch thread every single time because they have hundreds of threads) or to add their contact information etc... A useful feature of this suggestion is to simply put your Discord/Unique ID in bold. By doing this, it creates emphasis meaning the user is more likely to be cautious in double checking that the person they're trading with is the correct person (i.e. more likely to double check Unique ID's etc...)

Anyway, I respect your opinion. I just thought I would respond to some of the criticisms you have. Thanks. If you have anything else to add on as to why you disagree with this being a donator perk other than what you've said earlier, feel free to add those on as well.

 

Actually, there's a lot of people who use the bold font on the forums, I've pointed out examples of some from threads that you have just to prove this:







Considering the fact that you can already use bold in threads, why should you not allow it to be used on profile posts? If your belief is that the bold font is useless and that hardly anyone uses it, then why hasn't that feature been disabled on threads? The whole point of this is to allow people to customize their profile posts (which currently you're not able to do).

 

Shouldn't have to be a paid perk though.

 

3 days later and you're still saying the same thing you said originally. If every feature on the site was free, then there would be no incentive for people to donate.

You've provided no reasoning to explain why increasing profile post characters SHOULD be a donator perk. After all, if allowing only donators to be able to make their profile posts bold is useless then increasing profile post characters is just as useless.

Anyway, why don't you come back with actual reasoning instead of spending your time spamming threads with useless comments and insulting people. I understand post count is important for you but spamming potentially useful suggestions is not the place for post count farming.

 

Gaining more space for something (example more characters) is something worth money. Just like gaining more inbox space is a good paid perk. Being able to use bold font feature on a profile post should honestly just be an already given feature to literally everyone.


If you want people to donate have ACTUAL good features. ( which sythe does with larger User Image, customizable user title, enhanced name features, ect) Not bold font on a profile post only someone can see if they view your profile.

Your whole thing to just add this to a current perk. I get it, your not just buying perk to just get this. But then again it's like why should someone have to pay to use bold font? I'm happy your passionate about this feature, I'm just saying it's not worth a perk. I support the feature, just not as a donation perk.

 

I’d support if maybe it was a one off payment or so on instead of donation, sort of like how the banners etc work.

 

I support, getting $500 donor rank is pointless atm, it should be improved.

 

No support, it’ll only bug the website and if this gets added, where do you draw the line? There’s so many possibilities there; bold, italic, underlined, crossed-through, colored, font sizes, fonts, etc etc.
