V8 can get over 30mpg if your driving the right one's Camaros are known for getting 26+mpg on the highway, iv seen higher but ill be conservative.

Why did you waste money on a non turbo? So are you going to buy a diesel to make up for the torque deficiency? Also, at the drag strip you do relize your not allowed to start from a 80mph roll right?

Highway driving is fairly irrespective of real life situations. I'm not sure about you, but in Australia we also have roads thaat AREN'T Highways. Whilst V8's can get fairly good fuel economy, it's somewhat useless once you get into the start-stop.

Sacrifice a few mpg for horsepower. Its all in who wants what. I was just saying just because its a v8 does not mean it drinks 5 gallons of gas a mile, as everyone seems to think.
