    That's prob a contributing factor.

It's more so due to the anonymity available on this website, which leads to not being held accountable.

Since it is a free market and anyone can join in on the fun, it does make me significantly skeptical when I'm trading with anyone. If I'm not willing to get you banned for the amount we are trading for then I don't trade it.

I feel like by going against the free market and imposing controls such as required post counts or a feedback system would kill the uniqueness of Sythe.org.

If people want to buy trust by donating to the site and having a big badge by their name then all power to them. But from past experiences they'll still screw you over someway.

I agree, scamming is never worth it and it ends up hurting a lot more than we would think in bigger picture.

I started about a month ago and created my first thread to offer skilling services in the same day that I made my account. I didn't get any customers straight away despite offering lower rates than other users. I don't have a lot of experience in the market, but from what I have seen people are prepared to pay more to receive a service from a highly vouched user rather than go to a newcomer.

I feel I was lucky in the fact that I provided my first service I think 3 days after starting. I think the wait for the first customer could easily have been a few weeks/months. However, since then I have slowly been able to provide more services and even have a few regular customers now.

My point is that things started slow as users didn't really trust me. I got told many times that I wasn't vouched enough or simply got ignored. I know that many users will still not trust me as I have a small number of vouches, but that is not going to stop me from offering my services.

Being patient and persistent is key, especially when you start out, but if you keep going good things will come from it. This is exactly what I plan to do and is the advice that I would give to newcomers who are serious about being active in the market.

It is definitely hard at the beginning, no matter which part of the market it is, but with this mentality its not gonna be hard to overcome the early struggle of the markets for new people. I personally like to take the ’risk’ and put my trust on new people on the site.

That's true, never looked at it that way honestly. Patience is really important.
