Runescape gp price going down

Is runescape 3 and runescape old school gp prices going to continue to decrease more and more in the coming months?

 

While it did go down in the past couple months, it has actually gone up the past few weeks, so that shows a positive trend.

 

feeling like it's gonna keep going up. no one knows the big drop a few months ago but speculation is a bunch of GP dupes did it

 

In the long run the player base is going down and more gold is brought into the game than is consumed so logically it will go down until the end. There may be spikes along the way like summer time, mass bans on stakers, amazing new content, etc. There can also be large troughs from duping, school starting, new gold sources, etc.

i think it might jump a bit after that dupe gets old, but like mentioned above the bigger the playerbase usually the cheaper the gold since more gold is pumped into the game. same logic for RS3, their gold use to be expensive

 

Believe it or not gold has actually be raising in price lately. In the long run it is only inveitible that gold will drop in value, but we can always hope that it will stay above $1/M for a very long time

 

I've increased my price from last week but that's because of the recent demand. I'm also one of the cheapest priced out there and it seemed like it was too cheap so I increased the price.

The market right now actually it seems to be on an increasing trend so I'm glad about that. Its probably because people are too busy making money in Runescape (middle of the term) so they resort to easy ways like buying gold.

 

I'd say in general, the price of Bonds give you a good idea of the gold price trend. If a Bond increases in GP price, that means effectively GP prices are dropping compared to USD $.

We can see some major spikes, but the general trend over the past 6 months on OSRS and RS3 is a decrease in gold price. Interestingly, you can see the percentage change on OSRS has been much more drastic than on RS3.

I'm pretty sure RS3 GP has been going down the past week and 07 has been going up until the past couple of days when all the value it gained just dropped ovenight(30 cents or so). o.o

The big spike was due to RuneFest. You could pay for it and the airplane for those who don't live near RuneFest with Bonds.

 

Its crashing at the moment due to the dump lol.

Some staker(s) dumped a lot of billions back into the RWT market recently.

 

Is that related to nature runes and pure essence all of the sudden going down in price?

 

No. Nature Runes and Pure Essence spiked a lot the day of/days following the AFK NMZ/splashing nerf due to everyone panic buying before prices go up or people trying to merch them because they would likely go up and stay there. Nature Runes went up because alching was the way to train before splashing. Pure Essence went up because AFK NMZ produced a shitload of Pure Essence.

If you click quarterly you can see from the price history that spike was artificial (Not real supply/demand) due to the AFK changes. It spiked the second the changes were made, went up for a bit, then crashed back down to almost normal. Overall that change made Pure Essence go up a couple GP which is reasonable. Zulrah makes more Pure Essence than NMZ anyways.

They went up for a really brief period then went right back down. The AFK nerf pretty much did nothing to them. I'm guessing this is due to an increase of Nature Rune bots or it could even be school lowering the demand. They've gone down 10 GP or so since the AFK splashing nerf which is quite odd.

 

Very interesting. Thanks for the information. I remember back then someone held the pure essence market. He must have had like 200M pure essence. I forgot his name but I know he probably must have gotten banned because all of the sudden pure essence was way cheaper than the average which was at a time a constant 90-100GP each.
