Missing gp (strange hack or something?)

Last night I sold 1 account for 3m and sold 1m gp. That went smooth so I went on to end the night by putting some offers up in the ge(to flip). Today I log on and notice my bank pin has magically been deleted and my gp in bank + my ge offers were gone. I log off + back in to see if I have any unread messages or anything and I didn't. I double checked and went to runescape.com / account and still nothing. Let me note that I live in pretty much the middle of know where and absolutely no1 that I know plays runescape in the first place. I am the only one on this computer and I have told absolutely know one my password or my pin. I have no clue how this gp could have disappeared... this is literally tripping me out hard. At first I thought it could have been jagex taking away the gp for rwt but I had 0 messages + 0 offences + that don't explain my bank pin magically deleting. Has anyone seen/heard of anything like this? I have only played osrs through the original oldschool client or osbuddy

 

Was only your GP gone or other items aswell?

 

just the gp + what was in the ge. I was trying to buy some stuff cheap overnight but the history says none of it bought.

 

Possibly a rollback.
Sometimes Jagex rollsback accounts that where in a certain world / time.
Hard to tell as none of your other items have dissapeared.

 

From what you're telling us, this is a load of malarkey. Bank pins take 3 or 7 days to reset depending on your recovery delay settings. This means you logged on before it was deleted, and did not see a bank confirmation notice. I've never heard of instances where Jagex removed bank pins from accounts, even back when they did wealth wipes. Your story doesn't add up.

 

I'm not saying jagex did that... (im just thinking it had to been since no passwords were changed) idk what is going on. I'm literally freaking out. If you know the bank pin you can cancel it immediately. The only way it wasn't jagex is if someone knew both my login information + bank pin... could it be spyware or something? Should I be worried about my paypal and other accounts? I have never told anyone my information and nobody near me even knows how to login into runescape

 

You can't cancel a bank pin immediately. I just stated there is a cool down period of 3 or 7 days depending on your recovery delay settings for it to reset for security reasons.

You could've been keylogged, or phished, but again, it doesn't add up with the story you're giving. Jagex doesn't meddle with your bank pin. If you want more reassurance, tweet Jagex support @JagexSupport for a confirmation on this.

I suggest running a virus scan, then changing all your passwords.

 

I know this doesn't add up, thats why im so confused. If I did get phished or key logged my bank pin should have saved me + my passwords would most likely be changed. I don't know much about spyware but wouldn't that only catch my login information? not my bank pin? Anyways I posted in 07 discussion on runescape forums, maybe I can get some sort of explanation. I have been hacked a few times in the passed 10 yrs but this is the first time my bank pin has been deleted. whether or not I was able to explain this good... something strange is happening.

 

It definitely doesn't add up but stranger things have happened. Did you guys hear about A Friend getting hacked while having authenticator enabled?

 

Probably keylogged and they quessed your bank pin or something similar to that.

 

Pretty sure he didn't have authenticator , there was just no proof of anyone logging into his email.

I'm thinking it was a JMod who was tricked into resetting his password & removing authenticator. That's really the only way it could have been done since you need e-mail access to remove authenticator.

 

Sounds more like a roll back to me but I'm almost sure they don't do that for RWT.

Your account was probably compromised (RAT?), as a bank pin can be instantly deleted if you know what it is. I would scan and setup authenticator asap.
