New skillcapes. Laziness of Jagex mods RS3.

Truthfully, all trolling aside.

I am converting to OSRS after todays update. For several reasons.

1. Every release from Jagex, is HALF ASS, BULLSHIT. Legacy and capes are EXACTLY the meaning. They act like they have NO FUCKING common sense at their designs and releases. I just dont get it. LOL.

2. Oldschool runescape, every single release has been amazing, fun, successful and thoroughly completed.

3. Jagex puts a huge hype on capes with 120s, comp, and max cape (and trimmed comp cape)

but you have to be almost a virgin to get those, and honestly its just a fucking joke.


So in the end they managed to half ass and fail to design a very important part of runescape.

The front of the new skill capes are hideous. They are actually adding the ability to swap back to the old skill cape design though.

 

How could they even manage to make them look this bad. Just logged in to check mine.

Looks kinda horrible but this update reminded that skill capes even exist haha, I haven't used any for like 2 years even though I'm almost maxed on every skill.

 

are these the new capes? I don't play rs, but if so, ugly.

 

I noticed they are going for everything hooded thing. I don't really mind the look of the capes just a few things need tweaking. What gets me is they change something that would make it unique and different from osrs but then bend over for the whiners and give the original back (On the same day. Seriously?). They should at least address whats wrong and fix it not take an entire step back. People voted for this on the polls and pictures. I agree some stuff is different from the pictures but there is no need to go back completely once it's decided.

 

yeah they are, no more things over the shoulder. thats was the main reason I liked skillcapes in general

 

They look like shit, not that they're worth anything now anyway.

 

Why I told everyone on the Official Forums that voting for them to change would be bad for one main reason - Jagex is horrible with graphical updates.

They didn't disappoint. GG Jagex.

Luckily I'll have my RC cape in OS in a few weeks.

The reason why oldschool is like that is because all updates are polled and released according to the preferences of the players. Rs3 doesn't do that, and this is what they get. Jagex doesn't seem to realize that forcing updates on players ultimately leads to the destruction of their game.

 

Skillcapes won a poll to be changed this way. However, from the picture they didn't look quite this strange.

In invent the capes look horrible. The cape itself looks like paper. Way too thin lol.

 

Just googled them now, wow. Horrible, takes away from the reward (if any) of getting a 99. Look like clan capes to me.

 

99 capes are already worthless. You can get a 99 in literally 2 days if you grind hard, less if you buy spins. Better combat capes are easy to get. Better looking capes are sold for a couple bucks.

They don't have any level of prestige anymore, so personally I'm not bothered much.

 

They are working on bring back the retro skill capes and having a toggle-able option between the current ones and the retro ones. Retro so much better... but comp>all.

 

^There are no spins ingame anymore, and it really depends on the skill. There are extremely fast ones like magic but also slow ones like divination (85k/hr at high levels, 90+). Slayer for example is still one of the slower skills but you can already get around average 50k/slay xp an hour.


I really dislike the new capes, they don't even look like some kind of achievement anymore, rather like some cheap treasure hunter reward. Really hope they change them back.

EDIT: The capes remind me a little bit of "smaller" versions of the 120 capes... It's just that the 99 capes look shit.

 

I think... the 99 capes looks okay... doesn't look the best but it doesn't look that bad either.

I don't mind the change for it LOL.
