Replica Pack #2

Well, recently on Solomon's General Store, Jagex released the old Dragon set along with the old Infinity set. While it is annoying that it's for RC payment, there is good news too, loyalty pts also suffice as payment.

Today, they released the old looks for Torva, Pernix, and Virtus.

They also added the dragon chainbody and skirt to the existing dragon replica set (it was just platebody + legs before, in its various forms such as gold trimmed normal etc).

And lastly...my favorite, the old/replica Dragonfire Shield.

What are your thoughts on these packs? Are you happy they are here? What other old armor sets or possible old weapon overrides would you like to see?

I would like to see all of the old armors bronze-rune, including their respective (t) and (g) trims.

I would also like to see old barrows (Ahrims plox omg).

Old Whip wouldn't hurt either.

Some people don't like this because you don't need the actual item for the override, and thus fear its value will diminish. But no stats are gained from overrides, so this may not be a likely scenario.

 

I like the old Nex sets myself. I purchased the Pernix Replica armour and I have to say it's worth the Loyalty Points.

 

I feel like maybe making the overrides only able to be worn if you have the stats for them might be a good idea, I don't really care either way. Frankly I'd rather have a lvl 4 wearing the replica stuff than the ugly armour now lol.

I mean, they're not all bad, but most look ugly now imo.

I wish they were a little cheaper in LP and RC, but I guess I can see Jagex's perspective.

 

As far as I'm concerned, this is jagex screaming "We've made a mistake updating the armour looks so please accept overrides as our attempt to fix it". Plus I prefer the look of the updated Nex armours. It doesn't really matter to me if things get added to Solomon's General Store as I don't waste cash or bonds on it. The only thing I'd waste my money on is Spins.

 

Agreed I wish they'd just give some kind of item that reverts it to new/old school. Would just make everyone happy. It's basically going that direction anyway.

 

Jagex is making shitloads of money from selling old content (2007 servers, old gfx on armour) The old dragon, pernix, and DFS are my favorite.

It's incredible that they managed to fuck up their game so badly that it's major selling points are undoing years of game development.

 

Even worse the fact it's so messed up that I'm actually handing out cash to get these overrides -_-. That's how desperate I've become trying to hang onto the core game...

 

I bought the virtus one. Omg I remem when I used to gamble, I always wore them. I felt like a pub haha

Torva is fairly cheap and I like the new one tho. Pernix and Virtus is what I totally recommend

 

I prefer new Torva as well, I love it.
