    Legend Of Korra

Is it a must to watch the last airbender before this show?

Definitely, the last airbender was awesome, so no point in skipping that anyway. Not trying to go into too much detail, Ill just say you wont recognize a lot that you should if you dont.

Unless you are talking about the movie? The show is where it's at.

There were some flashbacks too, so you wouldn't get what's happening in them. ATLA also does a much better job explaining what the avatar is and his role in society.

You could start at Korra, but ATLA was an amazing series and will definitely get you hooked onto the show

My body is ready for book two. I hope it picks up in the upcoming episodes, but so far, it's been pretty good. It'll be pretty hard to beat book one as pre-reveal Amon was such a badass. I'm looking forward to see what's in store, though.

Not necessarily, but I think watching the original series will enhance your viewing experience, give you background information, and explain how their world works. I'd recommend watching the Last Airbender before the Legend of Korra.

And the worst part is, M. Night Shyamalan said he wanted to do a second one, said it was already written.

Shame viewers of legend of korra took a sharp decline at season 2. Season 1 peaked at 4.55m views in the first 2 episodes, it never went below 3m. Season 2 started with 2.6m views.

Nickelodeon has already ordered all 4 seasons, but Id love to see the sequels and see earth and fire avatars. Wont happen if the views dont go up. Hopefully the problem was the time slot.

    Legend Of Korra

Watched the entirety of season 1 and 2 since my last post (6 days ago).

    Currently on s3 ep5.

The show is actually really good. The fight scenes are really well done for it being a kids anime.

Finished all of Avatar. Was a great ending and show. Wish they continued forward with it and delved into energy bending/zukus mother etc.

Read "The Promise" (not zuko's mom, just a little continuation) and "The Search" (zuko's mom story) for more :)

There was supposed to be a 90 minute episode that covered it, but Nickelodeon refused and just took legend of korra. Disappointing, it was then made into a comic.

Latest episode was great, the one before that was disappointing. There's so much to look forward to in the following episodes going from this.

Not sure whether to start Korra or not. After Avatar, I just get the feeling that it will be a let down, as the storyline is the same; meaning, it would not live up to how good Avatar was.

They did an amazing job on korra, I initially thought the same thing actually.

My only issue is how they would make the next part of the earth avatar after korra is finished. I feel like they are using everything in their disposal for korra, which is good, and if there was to be a new one I doubt they could come up with anything much more original. I hope I am wrong like I was before watching korra. So I am on the same boat as you, just on the next avatar if there is one.

The first season of Aang was slow paced, 2nd it got better and the best was at the third season. Now that you finished the end, your expectations are high.

Ill try to differentiate the 2 without giving much of a spoiler. Throughout the seasons it wont be focused on korra learning how to master the elements. It is set on a more modern time, even though something like 80 years passed, I feel like they went too fast, but not to the point where we are at. Korra has an amazing start that I feel is better than aang's start, but I doubt by the end it would be able to beat aang's story overall.

Are any of the old characters still alive in Korra? I know the avatar cycle has moved on, so Aang isn't the avatar anymore...but do they still involve old characters?

I know Katara is still alive, but other than that I think everyone is dead.

Sokka was the only one confirmed dead. Katara said Sokka and some of the others were gone in the first episode. It's really a shame, Id have loved an old Sokka making jokes or seeing him wise up.

Zuko is still alive, but he isnt the fire lord, he gave it to his daughter and started traveling the world or something. But they try to fill the past characters with their children. So far aang and toph's (they dont have a child together) children have been seen, and zuko's grandson I believe. And there were talks that ty lee was still there. It's really thin on what they went on, we first saw her with a platypus-bear, and there was an old tiny woman sitting next to one. Id love to see toph still alive, and see what kind of guy she married.

I feel like we will see previous major character's relatives around, we're still on the 2nd book, and there are 2 more to go.
