    Why legal actions against wbot?

I don't get why jagex did legal actions against wbot, why not powerbot or epicbot?
    Find it hard to believe..

powerbot is hosted in the united states while wbot is hosted in europe

the same general thing happened to kbot/rsbuddy with legal conditions reguarding location.

Powerbot is an English company, based in London I believe.

Also RSBuddy wasn't shut down by Jagex; Jacmob left his bot development career in order to become an employee at Jagex.

Isn't powerbot a European company (owned solely by Paris)?

wbot should have gotten a anonimous .org domain...

Jagex wouldnt have shit against em.

They got the cheapest ass .nl which go for like 30 € a month... Think a server you pay €30 a month is gonna protect your personal info? Think again :)

This is the stupidest thing ever written and it wouldn't have changed a bit.

Domain names aren't charged monthly, they are charged yearly, for one.

Two, I don't know Dutch laws, but the registrar of the domain is usually 100% irrelevant to any onsuing legal action.

Three, Jagex would sue the host or registrar if they were trying so hard to protect the identity of a program used largely by 15 year old kids.

If i had to take a stab in the dark i would guess wBot owner's got scared.Getting lawyers involved etc it probably just wasn't worth the effort.

Powerbot on the other hand probably over years have been able to collect real arguements with some sort of legal backing as to why what they are doing isn't illegal for say..

Just a stab in the dark.... I'm not a lawyer what do i know.

Controlling interest of Jagex is located in the United States actually.

I'm pretty sure that Powerbot is also technically based in China or something similar since Gold4Fun technically "owns" the website.

Yeah he works in the Game Engine Development section of the company.

Basically after the first Bot Nuke Jagex said anyone who could find a workaround for their bot to get past the Bot Nuke within a certain amount of time would be offered a position at Jagex. Jacmob brought the new version of RSBuddy to RuneFest and met with some Jagex employees to demonstrate that it worked. They hired him and he shut down the botting site RSBuddy. Nowadays he made a non-botting plugin accessible RS client of his own at www.rsbuddy.com
