Guilded altars = profit (??????????)

Hey

I was wondering, I'm getting 75 cons in Double XP Weekend.

Do you guys know if litting altars is actually profitable from donations and stakers?

I attempted this as a way of money making a while ago, it's most definitely not worth the effort, as you get MAXIMUM 5M per hour, if you have a jammed full house.

5M, with a packed house, and generous players.

You'd probably make for example 2M first hour, 1M second, 1M third, 5M fourth, 2M sixth. etc.

You have to pay attention the whole time, too. Otherwise, people will just join another PoH. Also, there are 'famous' hosters to compete with on the house party worlds.

 

It's only 5m if you have a large amount of people using your house and they are feeling charitable. Quite a few people just take it as granted and don't care about the person lighting the altar. You can't AFK much either, people will get angry if you fail to light the altar fast enough and then you can kiss any donations goodbye.

 

Besides, alot of the people are botters anyway.

 

Usually you get very little donations if any at all but then again you run across 1-2 nice people who donate 10m+ (one guy gave me 8k baby dbones too). Its all too sporadic and not worth the effort in my opinion. Id rather do something that didnt depend on the gratitude of other people, the number of nice people seems to be diminishing and towards the end of my hosting an open house i got very little donations and i quit altogether id rather be botting or something .

TL;DR it can be great money if you run across appreciative people, or completely shit money with a bunch of ungrateful pricks, this is runescape guess what there is more of .

 

If you're the kind of RS player who likes to sit at GE and talk all day... I would highly recommend this. Easy work, you can socialize, and have some decent money making opportunities if you've got good advertisers who can catch wealthy/generous players' attention.

Out of all honesty, me being 90 construction. The profits ARE not exactly great, I opened for 5 hours straight and all I got was 3 - 4m and not even in gold. Also, if you ever just want to AFK and get donations whilst lighting the burners, there is a script over at powerbot.org but the only disadvantage is that it doesn't stand next to the burner which is next to be lighted. Overall, I think you should look for something else

It's not worth it IMHO, as most people using it will be bots.

 

Oh and on an unrelated note, you should refrain from getting 75 construction on double experience weekend. You can get double experience normally through the use of sacred clay hammers so instead you should train something that you can't get double experience on that costs a lot such as herblore, etc.

 

I wouldn’t get 75 construction as a means of making money. If you think about the people coming through your house are either bots or people that cannot afford to build an altar. Either way you won’t make a lot from their donations.
