Hey everyone, I have an idea that I want to get made into a website. I have every page on paper with notes on how I want it to work.

I don't know what I should do from here. I have a set budget at 8 grand and don't know what I need to do from here. Can anyone help me through the process of what needs to be done?

I suggest downloading Dreamweaver so after you're done designing in PS you can splice the images and start building your site. You also need to buy a domain name and hosting + set up nameservers and everything else.

~ $8,000 is way way way over what you need to make a website.

Yeah I have a pretty good knowledge of what it takes web wise to have a website like hosting and all of that. Just no idea in the art department...I would also rather have someone else code it from my templates, thats why the budget is so large. I know the basics of web based programming, just no will to do it. I hate coding.

$8k is way more than enough unless you are looking for someone to do everything for you and you want an expensive domain name. So I am assuming, by the OP, that you have everything all diagrammed out layout wise, color wise, and etc?

Basically if you don't want to do the coding, get a nice PSD of the web page and hire a PSD >HTML guy to do the coding - good ones are pretty cheap and 2k should be more than enough, let alone 8

I don't get it, are you looking for a designer or a coder? You said you have everything written down and explained on paper. You also said that you need someone to create your template, and in the very same sentence, you said you need someone to take your templates and make a website using them.

I guess my confusion is, designing and coding a website is literally the ENTIRE process it takes to make a website... "hosting and all of that" is maybe 2% of the job when it comes to starting, publishing, and running a webpage. And you come and say you have 8,000 dollars to have someone else design and code a website for you, to do 98% of the work for you. Yes, that's the entire reason behind paid services, behind paying someone to design and paying someone to code, and you obviously know that too since you're telling us your budget... but then WHY start a site if you're not capable? It seems to me like you're only wanting to start a site because you think it might be fun..?

The only reason anyone spends 8,000 dollars on a website is if they're a corporation or a foundation, and the website has a very fundamental and crucial purpose in their business. Online shops, services, resources, etc. and I doubt you're into any of these businesses. Why? Because you're asking a runescape forum, whose userbase consists of children under 18, where only a handful of potentially decent coders and designers reside.

So I don't know what your next step should be, but I suggest you reevaluate how much you're actually willing to put into this sort of investment.. and as far as creating a webpage from digitally designed elements, use dreamweaver or a similar web-page building software.

Of course, I could be entirely wrong, and you're actually the proprietor to a mega-corporation, and you wish to expand your internet sales or publicity. If that's true, then again... why are you asking sythe.org for help? Why not go to more reliable, professional, and specified sources for coding or designing? If you have a good reason to pay 8,000 dollars to have a website created for you, sythe.org isn't where you should be bargain shopping.
