That sounds like a much better idea. The suggestion in the OP would, like the first couple posts mentioned, make the ranks too common.

 

Yeah, having the winner receive the rank for the corresponding month, and then giving the rank to the user who wins the next MotM seems like a nice a idea.

I don't see why we can't count the month regardless of it reaching three pages.

 

I'm against this.. MoTM is a popularity contest, nothing more.

As well, for the whole disappearing rank, why not have someone create a specific MoTM rank to give to that specific MoTM? Hell, I'll create the rank if it'll stop everyone complaining ._.

If everyone stops taking them so seriously.. o the irony.

 

What is the fuss over a fun rank? Put one in your sig if you want one so much. No support, one a year at tops. If anything could be won for member of the month id like the ability to have a custom UI without donating $200. Looks better and they are already common so can't really be an argument that to many people have them.

 

I don't support it being every month, due to the clutter.

 

Think it would just be all the more reason for people to do it solely for the rank, and not the community. Not to mention people asking friends/cheating votes. I don't think such a system should be rewarded because it's only gonna reduce the genuinity of the award.

 

This is a nice solution.
If fun ranks are handed out too common it ruins the idea of the whole rank, so I like the variation on the idea.

 

I'd support this on the grounds that when a new MOTM is picked, the old one gets stripped of their rank.

 

I agree with Kadaj. The motm would only get the rank but I still think its a waste. They shouldn't be given easily. I had to earn mine.

 

Yours is permanent though and more personal.

I think this idea might be a nice addition but on the other side I think that fun ranks should just be for the staff to avoid confusion.

im agreeing with kadaj, cause then there wouldnt be any clutter, but they have a choice of a few things

1. a custom rank for a month
2. a UI for a month
3. A UT for a month
4. If they are previously a donar they should be able to change the part around it, e.g. the whip on the $5 donar to whatever they want for a month

 

I think a custom rank for one month is enough, and a UT saying something like;
Winner of *Month here* Motm!

 

I'm more for a UT for a month reward.

 

I dont think motm awards should be given every 3 months. It seems too often and too easy to get, diminishing the rarity of the rank. Although the idea Noobmage had seems to be more suitable.

It seems people have completely missed the point of what I am trying to say.

 

This should be for the yearly awards... But would this apply to previous winners? (I'm a sneaky boy who wants another rank ^_^)
