    Need Computer Suggestions!!

Hey guys, My birthday is coming up very soon and I would like to buy a computer for Gaming. Some ideas I thought was the 13 inch Macbook pro with the new 17 processor however with a $1499 price tag its a little steep. Id like a laptop (preferably not dell) but im open to Desktop options also! If a desktop I dont want to build my own. Maybe like buy it stock but add new parts in later! So please leave suggestions here!

    Cheers,
    Gr4vity.

    Moved to more appropriate section.

I would recommend getting a desktop, they are more accustomed to gaming. I wouldn't really go for Macs, they may look and perform ok but they are seriously overpriced today.

Well if you really want a laptop make sure you get one with good cooling, it won't last you 1-2 years otherwise. I find Alienware laptops aren't bad.

An i5 is more than you'd need for gaming, you could go for the i7 if you really wanted to provided you wanted to spend a fair bit more.

As said above me, the Asus Republic of Gamers laptops are very professional. Macs suck. You can definitely get an Asus with more power than a mac for less than a mac.

You said Macbooks are overpriced, yet you recommend him an Alienware...
Alienwares are good but they are extremely overpriced. The same goes for Mac, but they are really bad for gaming, as they mostly have powerful processors, but not so powerful graphics. I would recommend an Origin laptop, it is a smaller brand, they build customs and are pretty cheap compared to Alienware.

Just remember.. Building ur own computer is wayyy better than buying from retail. And you get more customizations as well. For 1500 you can build a BEAST ass computer. When i get enough time on my hands I can set up with a real nice rig and i'll reply on here. It's very easy to build computers too, and doesn't take that much time especially if you know what you want.

As Laptop said earlier, if you really want to game then you should go for a desktop. Not only do they tend to have better specs at lower prices you can buy a Barebones kit then just add a few other things which really is not to complicated.

I would recommend a Sager for a gaming laptop but right now they are pretty overpriced or they are pretty pricey as for some reason they took out their older models with i5 processors and put in only i7 at the moment, maybe more browsing on their website you can find one.

I currently have an NP8150 that I use for school and gaming at my apartment and use my gaming desktop back when I am at home. But I think there was a lower laptop maybe NP8130/NP8120 that was around 1k-1.3k, both really good as well.

How about an actual gaming pc with a dedicated GPU that isn't trash? You're stuck on a mac because you think it's cool when in actuality, you're completely overlooking any of the important aspects of a computer.

If aesthetics are the basis on which you choose your computers, why are you even asking us? lol. Macs = not suited for gaming. If you want to game, get a PC. End of story.

No, my parents said they only want to get me a Mac because of the customer support etc and their apparently really reliable. Plus any computer is better then what i have now. im using the dell inspirion 1525 with only ONE core and the intel celeron processor and a shitty GFX card.
